Sword Recognizes its Master

There has always been a question: for a sage who has enlightened multiple Daos simultaneously, which one is the most powerful?

Everything must be ranked, and it's impossible for all enlightened great Daos to be equally powerful. There must be one that is the most proficient.

Cultivators generally believe that the first Dao enlightened is the most powerful, as it is the initial great Dao.

However, this is not always the case. After all, Wang Yangzi's first Dao was alchemy, and his second was the Way of the Sword. From this perspective, his second Dao should be the most powerful, as the Way of the Sword is focused on killing, while alchemy is supportive.

Now, Chen Xia's Dao fusion combines his four Daos into one, using a single great Dao to simultaneously release four powers.

This is a divine ability that cultivators use only after mastering their own Daos thoroughly. It is extremely difficult, comparable to creating a semi-immortal technique.

To achieve such a Dao fusion, you must be at least a quasi-sage who has comprehended two great Daos. This threshold alone has stopped countless cultivators.

The second point is to master both enlightened great Daos extremely well, integrating and using them effortlessly in daily practice. Only after reaching the state where the Dao is in your heart and at your fingertips can you begin the subsequent Dao fusion.

The third challenge is to have a truly powerful great Dao that can withstand the fusion of other Daos.

This might not be difficult for other cultivators. For example, Wang Yangzi could attach his alchemy Dao to his Way of the Sword, as alchemy is naturally not as supreme as the Way of the Sword, so there's no conflict.

But Chen Xia's situation is different.

Heavenly Dragon Dao, Thunder Dao, Way of the Sword, and Time Dao.

Among these, the Heavenly Dragon Dao might be slightly weaker. After all, the Thunder Dao, when comprehended to its extreme, can rival the highest calamities of all heavens. The Way of the Sword and Time Dao are even more formidable - they are the most supreme Daos in all worlds and realms, having produced countless peak great emperors since ancient times.

The problem is that although the Heavenly Dragon Dao is slightly weaker, it doesn't submit to the other three Daos, creating obstacles in fusion. Not to mention the other three Daos.

They are all top-tier, so why should they fuse into one?

This is where Chen Xia needs to use his most deeply comprehended Dao as the main body.

And he indeed found it.

The Time Dao.

The Time Dao was also the first great Dao Chen Xia enlightened. Moreover, he is an immortal who has lived for nearly thirty thousand years, giving him a deeper understanding of the passage of time, having witnessed countless changes over the ages.

Using the most deeply comprehended Dao to carry the other three is reasonable and indeed feasible.

This is his Dao fusion: Time becomes the carrier, with the other three Daos following in sequence, orderly.

Gray-white colors fill his eyes, carrying sword qi and thunder, turning into vertical pupils.

The changes from the Dao fusion seem to be only in his eyes, but this is enough.

He stands straight, with the semi-immortal sword already suspended beside him, yet he doesn't grasp it.

He remembers distantly that when he was at the Ocean-Overturning realm, he wasn't qualified to wield the semi-immortal sword, and even had to rely on his heart demon to unleash the sword's full power.

But times have changed.

He is now a sage of four Daos, able to suppress ordinary great sages and rival peak great sages of a single Dao.

The semi-immortal sword no longer rejects him.

When he wields the sword, it feels natural - this is his Way of the Sword.

Moreover, it is Dao fusion.

In the dim sky, tiny thunderbolts dance, dense and numerous.

The vertical pupils in Chen Xia's eyes are shining, his gray-white eyes reflecting the Emperor Witch's slender figure.

"Good!" the Emperor Witch utters a single word, then can't help but start evaluating.

"The multitude of Dao comprehension, the depth of foundation, the strength of combat power, the greatness of divine abilities, the loftiness of spirit - rarely seen in a lifetime!"

Five "of"s represent the Emperor Witch's high evaluation of Chen Xia, already making him unique.

Chen Xia is indeed one of a kind.

The cultivators below the realm are all stunned. Those below quasi-sage level just watch the spectacle, seeing that Chen Xia is very powerful, with a pressure that almost makes them unable to breathe, but not knowing why he is so strong.

Only cultivators at quasi-sage level and above can see some of the intricacies, recognizing it as the fusion of four great Daos. Because of this, they more clearly realize how vast the gulf is between themselves and Chen Xia.

Even quasi-emperors can't help but sigh.

"A prodigy, a true prodigy. Perhaps the title of great emperor is prepared for such beings."

They watch in admiration, but the Emperor Witch doesn't retreat. Instead, he waves his hand, and the black mist in the sky gathers into a huge circle behind him, with faint patterns within. Looking closely, it resembles a formation.

"My second Dao, the Formation Dao," the Emperor Witch says softly.

He has been confined in this realm for over 200,000 years, serving as the formation eye himself, and even using his external incarnations as several formation eyes. Naturally, he is proficient in the Formation Dao.

This is his self-created great formation.

Chen Xia doesn't reply, but extends his right hand outward.

The semi-immortal sword hums, its sword qi shattering the earth, its sword intent rising to the sky, instantly reversing to Chen Xia's hand, full of howling killing intent!

He is at the lowest level of the middle realm.

The Emperor Witch is at the highest level of the upper realm.

It seems like the difference between clouds and mud.

But he is certainly not mud.

"Come!" Chen Xia shouts lowly.

Threads of time form into three million swords, spanning across heaven and earth, creating a long river of time.

In this river, Chen Xia is the master.

He wields the semi-immortal sword, borrowing ten thousand years of future power from the river, forcefully taking the spirit of a great sage. His figure elongates like the brightest light between heaven and earth, slashing towards the sky, the sword tip pointing at the Emperor Witch!

A tiny crack appears in the entire realm, flashing with void colors, as if cut in two by a single stroke.

The watching cultivators stare blankly, feeling that this scene is as if the entire realm has been severed!

The Emperor Witch's calm expression finally shows a hint of gravity. He didn't expect Chen Xia to comprehend the Time Dao to such a degree, actually able to briefly borrow future power to forcefully strike down a person in the present.

If they were both at the great sage realm, Chen Xia would probably be stronger than him.

But now there's a difference of a major realm between them.

The black circular formation behind the Emperor Witch flashes, its patterns beginning to flow, like a black sun, firmly resisting this incoming sword strike.

He raises his right hand high, index and middle fingers together, as if lifting a black sun. Slightly raising his head, he says in a deep voice.

"Black Sun Dao."

The Emperor Witch swings his right hand outward.

The black sun suddenly descends, the entire realm trembles, as if shaking in fear. The stars in the distant sky are corroded by the heat of the black sun.

The bright sword light is suppressed.

"After all, it's borrowed future power, not present power, so it's not as effective," the Emperor Witch says, calmly watching the black sun descend.

He raises his eyebrows slightly, instead looking forward to seeing if Chen Xia has any new divine abilities or techniques.

In the myriad worlds he has emerged into, if there could be such a prodigy, it would certainly be interesting...

It certainly would be.

He has high hopes for Chen Xia.

"Damn!" Chen Xia's sword light hard-counters the black sun, the blood vessels in his sword-wielding right hand bursting with fresh blood. He grits his teeth tightly, his body not retreating a step, even moving forward.

Fresh blood continuously drips onto the semi-immortal sword.

Along with the fresh blood, Chen Xia's sword cultivator spirit also drips.

Not bowing, not admitting defeat - this is the purest sword cultivator between heaven and earth.

It's just that few sword cultivators can write the word "pure."

Chen Xia may not be a sword cultivator, but he certainly doesn't admit defeat.

Hum!

The sword's cry resounds throughout the entire realm.

The sword light alone breaks through a million miles, reaching the sky.

The weapon with the strongest killing power in all worlds and realms...

The immortal sword acknowledges its master!

Just Became Emperor, Already Assassinated by the Son of Destiny

Just Became Emperor, Already Assassinated by the Son of Destiny

e bizarre and supernatural had descended. The previous emperor was a thoroughgoing tyrant; no longer satisfied with human women, he had set his sights on a stunningly beautiful supernatural entity. He met his end in his bedchamber, drained of all his vital essence. As the legitimate eldest son and crown prince, Wang Hao was thus hastily enthroned, becoming the young emperor of the Great Zhou Dynasty. No sooner had he awakened the "Imperial Sign-In Intelligence System" than he was assassinated by a Son of Destiny—a classic villain's opening. The Great Zhou, ravaged by the former emperor's excesses, was in national decline. The great families within its borders harbored their own treacherous schemes, martial sects began to defy the imperial court's decrees, and border armies, their pay and provisions in arrears, grumbled incessantly against the central government. Fortunately, the central capital was still held secure by the half-million Imperial Guards and fifty thousand Imperial Forest Army who obeyed the court's orders, along with the royal family's hidden reserves of power, barely managing to suppress the realm. As the Great Zhou's finances worsened and supernatural activities grew ever more frequent, the court sat atop a volcano. Ambitious plotters everywhere dreamed of overthrowing the dynasty, and even some reclusive ancient powers emerged, attempting to sway the tides of the world. At the first grand court assembly, the civil and military officials nearly came to blows, fighting tooth and nail over the allocation of fifty million taels of silver from the summer tax revenues. The spectacle opened Wang Hao's eyes—the Great Zhou's bureaucracy was not only corrupt but also martially proficient, a cabinet of all-rounders. Some officials even had the audacity to suggest the emperor release funds from the imperial privy purse to address the emergency. Wang Hao suddenly felt weary. Let it all burn.
