"Shouldn't this wish of yours be easy to fulfill?" Chen Xia asked in confusion.
Just graduating as a virgin. Many people's wishes at eighteen, or even twenty-five, are to graduate as virgins. Of course, we won't talk about after twenty-five. If someone is still a virgin after twenty-five, Chen Xia suggested they keep their chastity. Because that's really cool.
Of course he didn't count himself in that category.
Captain Orangutan nodded, stroking his chin. "But do you think I should do it with an orangutan, or with a human?"
This was indeed a difficult question.
Because Captain Orangutan was truly massive.
Massive in every way.
So Chen Xia also found it hard to say.
Captain Orangutan's expression was extremely distressed as he murmured,
"If it's with an orangutan, I can't get past it mentally. But if it's with a human, I can't get past it physically."
"This question of yours is indeed difficult," Chen Xia agreed.
The two shared their thoughts on the issue. Chen Xia felt that if Captain Orangutan could get past it mentally, he could consider starting a harem in the forest.
Captain Orangutan nodded. "That sounds good. I'll go to the forest after this mission ends."
"Sounds good, sounds good," Chen Xia nodded.
"Actually, dying wouldn't be so bad. I heard you can reincarnate and transmigrate to other worlds," Captain Orangutan suddenly said.
"Where do you want to reincarnate to?" Chen Xia asked.
A longing look appeared on Captain Orangutan's face. "Of course to reincarnate in a two-dimensional world. I heard orangutan girls exist there."
Chen Xia was silent, not wanting to comment.
"I heard you're an orphan and live under a bridge," Captain Orangutan suddenly asked in concern.
"Mm," Chen Xia leaned against the railing, tilting his head to look at the ground below.
He smelled an unusual wind.
Captain Orangutan smiled foolishly. "After this mission ends, come live at my place. I have two empty rooms left."
Chen Xia did not answer.
Because the wind was getting stronger.
Boom!
A huge crash suddenly came from the floors below, flames spreading as shards of glass scattered.
Captain Orangutan leapt into action without a thought, rushing towards the interior of the building. At the same time, he shouted to Chen Xia,
"Wait here for me. If it gets dangerous, run first by yourself. Don't worry about me!"
He didn't wait for Chen Xia's reply before rushing into the building.
Chen Xia got up and started walking outside. He didn't want to get involved. As for Captain Orangutan, he should be able to take care of himself.
That's what Chen Xia thought as he arrived at the entrance of the building, planning to wait a little longer before making his escape. That way the world's will wouldn't reject him either.
After testing for two days, Chen Xia had discovered the rules for the world's rejection - as long as he didn't do anything outrageous, the world's influence on him would be minimal.
For example, he was a Night Owl who had aspired to be a hero since childhood. Of course he couldn't do bad things that went against his character. And directly running away like this was also no good, too devoid of any sense of justice.
So Chen Xia planned to wait a little longer before escaping. That way the new government's people wouldn't be suspicious of him either. After all, he was just an E-rank Night Owl. What else could he do besides run away?
That's what he thought as he took out a banana flavored cigarette, the same brand as Captain Orangutan's, planning to smoke a couple before leaving.
But just as he lit the first one, someone arrived at the entrance, wearing a pale mask and a burly physique, carrying a person-height chainsaw.
It was just short of having "I'm here to kill" written on his face.
Chen Xia's expression was impassive. He just needed to treat this person like a normal human, and that way it wouldn't trigger the world's rejection either.
So he opened the door and politely greeted the Chainsaw Man,
"Welcome."
A sinister laugh came from the pale mask of the burly Chainsaw Man. "You little insect, I'm going to dismember you and hang you from the gates."
Chen Xia kept his head lowered, pretending not to hear, and continued, "The academic seminar is on the thirteenth floor."
He made up a random floor number.
"I'm going to kill you, haha!" The roar of the chainsaw was like the pronouncement of death as it swiftly approached Chen Xia.
Damn it.
Chen Xia was a little annoyed. He lifted his head, kicked and snapped an iron railing next to him, picked up the iron rod, threw away his cigarette and stomped it out under his shoe.
If you really pissed him off, the next time he came to this world, it wouldn't just be a wisp of his divine sense.
He'd flip the whole table. No more fun and games for anyone!
The chainsaw sound was very near now, the buzzing entering his ears.
Chen Xia looked up, gripping the iron rod in both hands and swinging it heavily through the air, pulling out a whistling sound that even overwhelmed the chainsaw's roar!
The sounds of bones breaking rang out one after another!
One swing was all it took.
He directly beat the burly Chainsaw Man down to his knees, snapping one of his arms in half.
Chen Xia tossed away the bent iron rod, lit a cigarette, and asked, "Have you always been this brave?"
No answer.
Because the Chainsaw Man was already half dead, emitting unintelligible moans from his mouth.
He probably hadn't expected that his casual murderous impulse would provoke a terrifying existence like Chen Xia from the outside world.
It was like happily going to fish in your backyard pond, only to realize when you pulled up the line that you had caught a great white shark.
I'll beat your mom.
The Chainsaw Man probably swallowed his last breath with that kind of feeling.
Chen Xia blew out a mouthful of smoke, crooked his finger in front of the Chainsaw Man's face, and abruptly flicked out, completely snuffing out his half-dead life.
He looked back at the building, considering whether or not he should go help Captain Orangutan.
He probably didn't need to.
He frowned, thinking.
Moreover, transmigrating to a two-dimensional world was indeed one of the orangutan's dreams. It was best if he didn't interfere.
That's what he thought, but many times, things don't go as smoothly as imagined.
The building began to explode floor by floor, glass shattering all around, flames filling the sky.
Chen Xia stretched out his hand to shield his face, flicking away the shards of glass. His eyes narrowed slightly as he saw a figure swiftly descending.
The wind picked up strongly as an earsplitting roar sounded.
The flames danced.
The figure fell with the burning fire, crashing heavily to the ground with a thud.
Chen Xia tilted his head to look.
It was Captain Orangutan.
His face was filled with terror as he shouted to Chen Xia,
"Run quickly!"
"No need," Chen Xia calmly replied. The toe of his leather shoe flicked up the bent iron rod on the ground into his hand. He patted the dust off his suit shoulders.
A pitch-black figure had already appeared in front of him, standing right at the gates, eyes extremely cold as they stared straight at Chen Xia.
"If possible, please rein in your rude gaze. It will make your death a little less painful," Chen Xia advised him.
The pitch-black figure did not speak, but gently walked forward, stretching out slender arms from his robes. In an indifferent voice devoid of emotion, as if simply recounting facts, he said,
"Coffin Works, we cannot leave any Night Owls at the scene. That is our code."
"I always adhere to the code," Chen Xia replied.
The pitch-black figure's words remained unhurried. His hands slowly emerged from the wide sleeves.
Around them, shards of glass fell, flames flickered.
Pale colors began to spread.
All of this suddenly froze in place.
Chen Xia held the bent iron rod and in a flash, flickered to the front of the pitch-black figure, his eyes filled with transparent color!
Time stop!
A loud clang rang out.
The iron rod snapped.
The flames resumed dancing.
The pitch-black figure crashed through the gates, smashing the walls.
Chen Xia took out a cigarette from the pack, used the flickering flames nearby to light it, put it in his mouth, and complained,
"You've almost got me wearing all the pretense already. What more do I have left to pretend?"
