Su Ze was shocked when he heard it and ran like a defeated dog towards the newly arrived DiDi car.
He left under the girl's lost and bewildered gaze.
Since that Range Rover hadn't made a move against him, Su Ze naturally wouldn't let them off so easily. What if they were really some criminal organization?
With Su Ze's identity being targeted, this matter wasn't simple anymore - there were undercurrents stirring both inside and outside Huaxia recently.
Better to err on the side of caution than let someone dangerous escape.
He made a call to the enforcers, and reported the girl as well.
Not long after Su Ze left, the girl's dejected expression suddenly showed traces of a smile, with her lips curling slightly upward.
"Looks like he's not a scumbag, but a husband one can rely on. Uesugi Akizuki, you're really fortunate."
She walked towards the Range Rover, her hand just touching the car door.
Click.
She stared in shock at the handcuffs on her wrist, turning back in disbelief to see an enforcer's cold face, with several other enforcers closing in alertly behind him.
Su Ze had just left the police station, and the enforcers were naturally nearby. When they heard Su Ze's report, they rushed over like madmen, arriving in less than fifteen seconds.
Su Ze returned to his doorstep, lit a cigarette, and leisurely pushed open the main door.
Although today had been rough - his car was impounded, he went to the police station, got scolded by his superior, and was treated like a joke.
But returning home filled his sorrowful heart with a sense of peace.
Su Ze pressed his fingerprint to unlock the door, entered the front yard, finished his cigarette while standing in front of the residence, then walked inside.
Going upstairs, Su Ze noticed something odd on the second-floor balcony - that succulent plant had been watered.
Su Ze froze for a moment, walking over bewildered to take a look.
The next moment, he picked up the pot and turned it upside down, pouring out all the water. The soil stuck to the pot's walls like glue, not falling out at all. He grumbled:
"Which genius poured water into my fake potted plant?! This is just a decoration, watering it will cause corrosion and damage!"
While Su Ze was gentle, he was also genuinely lazy. How could he possibly spend time tending to plants? Wouldn't it be better to spend that time playing games?
He suddenly fell silent for a moment, then abruptly realized!
Something was wrong! Even if Su Ning had returned, he wouldn't water the plants. Someone had been in his house!
Su Ze's energy perception instantly spread out, immediately locking onto the game room!
Concealing all his aura, he slowly approached the game room. Just as he was wondering who it could be, he froze the moment he pushed open the door.
In the game room bathed in blue-purple neon lights, through the huge glass wall, he saw a small shrine maiden with wine-red long hair, intensely focused on the controller in her hands, her eyes fixed unblinkingly on the screen.
Little silly?! How was she here?
Su Ze stood dumbfounded, his mind in chaos. Logically, it made no sense for little silly to be here! This all exceeded Su Ze's expectations.
Little silly's mother in Luosha - Su Ze had investigated this person after little silly left. She was a domineering, overprotective woman with strong controlling tendencies, named Uesugi Chiaki, and moreover was the head of the Luosha family!
How could she allow her daughter to return?
Furthermore, little silly was Uesugi Chiaki's daughter - how could Uesugi Chiaki let her daughter wander freely? If anything happened to her in Huaxia, the chain reaction would make even Su Ze tremble!
Su Ze tried to calm his inner turmoil, using his spiritual perception to sense the aura of this little silly. He was shocked to discover that the shrine maiden before him was indeed Uesugi Akizuki!
Su Ze was already completely bewildered. After a moment of silence, he accepted this reality, but looking at his severed arm, he stepped back, intending to quietly close the door.
The Mario victory sound effect came from the computer!
Little silly put down the controller and happily rolled around on the bed.
Who knows how many times she had died before finally beating the game to be this happy?
Just then, little silly's amber pupils suddenly caught sight of Su Ze trying to close the door and leave.
The latter felt somewhat awkward - he had been so startled by little silly's sudden actions that he stood frozen in place, similar to having a guilty conscience, or perhaps feeling remorse towards little silly.
Leading to their current situation of staring at each other.
Su Ze was so uncomfortable he could dig a hole with his toes.
Little silly's previously confused face immediately broke into a delighted smile. Her wine-red hair flying, the small shrine maiden rose and recklessly threw herself into Su Ze's embrace.
The small shrine maiden just hugged his waist and buried her head in his chest, doing nothing more. Su Ze was too scared to move.
"Why did you come back?" Su Ze asked after hesitating for a moment.
No answer came. He noticed his chest gradually growing warm as tears once again penetrated through to his heart. Su Ze felt like his heart was about to be scalded through. He grew inexplicably flustered, not knowing what to do, standing there like a wooden chicken.
He could imagine that the girl who had just rushed over with a face full of joy was now crying streams of tears.
But Su Ze couldn't tell if the girl was crying from happiness at regaining what was lost, or if it was an emotional release after suppressing her feelings for so long about what was lost and found again.
But ultimately, the girl was crying, crying so silently, crying until the boy was at a complete loss.
Su Ze was skilled at handling any battlefield situation, but when it came to matters of the heart, his combat techniques were as blank as white paper.
His parents gave him life, his mother taught him how to treat others gently, but died before teaching the boy how to comfort a crying girl.
His slowly raised right hand hesitated again and again in the air, wavering for a long time before finally resting on the girl's head, patting it, "Don't cry, I'm back."
Su Ze roughly understood that regardless of how the girl was crying, ultimately she was crying because of meeting him again.
Su Ze fondly patted the girl's head, his hand slowly moving down, strands of wine-red hair flowing through his fingers, gradually placing his palm on the girl's back, and then gently holding her in his embrace.
Su Ze somewhat understood that perhaps now wasn't the time for many words of comfort, but simply to quietly stay by the girl's side.
The blue-purple neon light shone upon the two of them. After a long while, the small shrine maiden finally raised her head, her tear-reddened eyes meeting Su Ze's gaze.
"Are you hungry?" Su Ze asked as if he had never left her, just like he used to.
The small shrine maiden nodded, seeming somewhat angry, and buried her face in his chest, rubbing it around messily to wipe away her tears.
This was perhaps her punishment for Su Ze deceiving her about not leaving.
Su Ze amusedly patted her head. When he had bid farewell to Uesugi Akizuki last time, he had already prepared himself to be beaten up at their next meeting, but unexpectedly, when this moment truly came, the punishment was so gentle.
Suddenly, the small shrine maiden grabbed his empty sleeve, and Su Ze's expression immediately froze. He knew what this meant.
Sure enough, after a moment's blank surprise, the small shrine maiden anxiously grabbed his empty sleeve and bunched it up, not finding Su Ze's arm. Her pupils instantly became hollow as she raised her head, blankly meeting the boy's complex gaze...
