Under the night sky.
Su Ze drew out [Ghost Slayer Heavenly Child], and a dark red, dazzling blade light lit up in the darkness. The light cut through the ground from below, slicing through gravel, trees, and finally a massive rock over ten meters away!
A deep, thunderous explosion followed. The area around the ten-meter-long path that had been finely sliced by the blade was now engulfed in a massive energy explosion! A trench, one to two meters wide, was carved out by the blast.
"Holy crap!"
Su Ze was dumbfounded as he looked at the dark red blade in his hand.
He steadied himself and swung the blade once more. Wherever the blade light reached, nothing was left intact—another long scar was left in its wake.
But this time, there was no energy explosion, as Su Ze hadn’t channeled much energy into the strike.
He realized that the more energy he poured into the blade, the heavier it felt to wield. The blade light and aura became more domineering, and the destructive power increased exponentially. Yet, the weight of the blade was negligible to him.
Xiao Hanhan, standing nearby, was utterly shocked, staring blankly at the shattered rock over ten meters away.
Su Ze took [Autumn Slash Cherry] from her hands and was astonished to find how light the blade was—almost as if it were made of wood!
Drawing [Autumn Slash Cherry], the silver blade gleamed coldly under the moonlight. This was no piece of wood but a genuine katana, and a top-tier one at that!
Su Ze hefted the blade, feeling its weightlessness without the scabbard.
He swung it once, and a pale pink blade light shot out with razor-sharp precision, cutting through the air and landing on a rock over ten meters away.
"..."
Nothing happened.
Su Ze picked up a stone and threw it at the rock. With a loud crash, half of the rock was cleanly sliced off, the cut surface smooth as glass.
Su Ze was filled with awe. This gift was far too extravagant!
What he had thought would be a perilous meeting turned out to be a generous gesture from his mother-in-law.
He sheathed the blade and returned [Autumn Slash Cherry] to Xiao Hanhan. She truly needed a reliable weapon, and [Autumn Slash Cherry] was perfect for her.
The sports car streaked through the night, leaving the wilderness behind.
...
Dust City.
"You actually came back alive!" Shen Qingsheng, in the middle of a game, invited Su Ze, who had just logged in, sounding somewhat frustrated.
Shen Qingsheng clicked to start a match in CS:GO.
"Why do I sense a hint of disappointment in your tone?" Su Ze asked, puzzled.
"I've been starving all day, waiting to feast at your funeral, and now you're back. How could I not be disappointed?"
"...This guy is dangerous. Best not to keep him around."
The game began—Desert Mirage, Terrorist side, first round, pistol only.
"By the way, did my mom come back with you?" Shen Qingsheng asked.
Su Ze glanced at Xiao Hanhan, who was stubbornly pursing her lips while playing Mario on another computer. "She’s back."
"That’s good." Shen Qingsheng, wielding a butterfly knife, hopped around only to be instantly headshot, his screen turning black.
Su Ze took down two cops at Long A with three shots, stealthily knifed one in VIP, picked up a taser, planted the bomb at B, and hid, waiting to electrocute the defuser.
The voice chat erupted instantly.
"Holy crap! Holy crap! That was insane!"
"666666!"
The praise from his teammates was as straightforward as it gets.
Suddenly, a ripple of law energy spread, and darkness enveloped him.
Su Ze reacted instantly, throwing a punch!
Boom!
The space in front of him shattered but quickly repaired itself.
"Relax," a young voice said.
Su Ze felt as though he was floating in outer space, disconnected from reality. He threw another punch, causing the space to tremble and crack, the barely formed domain on the verge of collapse.
"Damn it, why is everyone here a lunatic?"
A surge of law pressure descended, but Su Ze countered it, his own pressure shattering the opponent's.
"Can you hear me out before deciding whether to fight me?" the voice spoke again as a young man stepped out of the darkness.
"Who are you?" Su Ze gradually calmed down. The sudden appearance of the domain had triggered his instincts to escape.
"I’m an envoy sent by the gods," the young man sighed in relief. Why were people on Earth so aggressive? All he wanted was to talk.
"An envoy of the gods?" Su Ze frowned. "Do gods even exist?"
Su Ze’s understanding of gods was limited to hearsay. He had heard colleagues mention them but had never seen one himself, so he remained skeptical.
The existence of gods was classified as top-secret by the government. Those who had seen them were forbidden from speaking about it, and those who knew were sworn to secrecy.
If the public were to learn that gods existed, how would they react? Fear? Excitement? Chaos?
Despite the secrecy, too many people had encountered gods—not just from wandering troupes and squads but also from foreign organizations. They too had gates to other worlds to guard and had caught glimpses of gods in those realms.
Many widely spread rumors weren’t entirely baseless.
"Would you be interested in participating in a competition created by the gods?" the young man asked bluntly, no longer boasting as he had with Mo Ziang.
"..."
After listening to the young man’s explanation, Su Ze shook his head. "I can’t make a hasty decision. The laws I wield aren’t mine—they belong to the state. I need to consult my superiors."
The laws Su Ze wielded had been granted to him by the organization because they saw potential in him. He couldn’t gamble with them without the organization’s consent.
"I’ll give you time, but you have two days to give me an answer. I can’t stay for long," the young man said before vanishing, the domain disappearing with him.
A voice came through the headset.
"Big bro! Move! Please move! Ahhh!" a girl shouted, sounding desperate.
"You’re carrying us! Without you, we can’t win!" another girl chimed in. "This is a 2000-rank game! Don’t go AFK!"
"He probably fell into the toilet. I’ll go check if I can fish him out. Wait a sec," Shen Qingsheng said.
Then, Su Ze’s phone rang.
He answered with a laugh, "Daddy’s here."

grated, and just when he finally managed to get into an elite academy, he discovered that he actually had a system, and the way to earn rewards was extremely ridiculous.
