I Became the Commander of Red Alert in the Apocalypse Chapter 99

Wang Dajiang and the others gaped in disbelief at the talking zombie before them.

The zombie seemed to have guessed their reaction long ago. It drank the red wine and slowly approached Wang Dajiang's group.

"You... I remember you. Back then on the first floor of the hotel, I took you hostage, but Xiao Fan's people didn't care whether you lived or died."

"What's your situation today? Celebrating your independence?"

The zombie spoke and suddenly grabbed Wang Dajiang from the crowd.

Its crimson eyes flashed as it stared at Wang Dajiang. "I really hate it when people hold guns. Are you looking to die?"

Wang Dajiang's small gun dropped to the ground with a clang. "No, no, I was just... just..."

"Speak. Where did Xiao Fan go? How come there are only a few of you left?"

Wang Dajiang was now somewhat incoherent. "It wasn't my orders, no, I'm not really sure either. Xiao Fan's people left and went to a new base, but I don't know the exact location."

Li Nanfeng's gaze swept over the people present. "Who knows where Xiao Fan went?"

No one answered because they truly didn't know.

Xiao Fan's people had only said they were leaving, but they didn't mention the specific location.

Only one survivor managed to say, "They left by rail, heading north."

"North? That's a vast area."

Li Nanfeng said, already displaying extreme impatience.

Talking nonsense with these useless people was truly torturous. After becoming a zombie, Li Nanfeng's temper had become particularly violent.

His cold, inhuman gaze swept over the crowd, and Li Nanfeng gave a cold snort. "Since you're all so useless, there's no need for you to live."

He flung Wang Dajiang aside, directly throwing him into the zombie horde.

"Happy Independence Day, babies! Dinner time!"

The zombie horde pounced with a swarm. Wang Dajiang and the others didn't even have time to scream before being engulfed by the wave of undead.

Among them, the mutant bear zombie that Lu Wang had become after death was particularly fast at devouring people, chomping the flesh in its mouth with a terrifying crunching sound more horrific than the demons of hell.

Li Nanfeng sat alone on a chair, watching all this with an emotionless expression.

After watching for a while, he turned his head in annoyance and noticed the map on the wall.

"Hmm?"

His gaze fell upon a circled area in red.

It was a circle Xiao Fan had absentmindedly drawn when originally choosing the location.

"Yunzhou Leaning Mountain Farm."

Li Nanfeng stared at it for a moment before breaking into a cold laugh.

"Heh... hehehe!! How convenient for me."

"Xiao Fan, did you think I couldn't find you just by changing locations? You're wrong."

"Even if you hide at the ends of the earth, I'll chase you to the ends of the earth. I won't rest until I've crushed you to dust and avenged the hatred in my heart!"

Li Nanfeng directly left the police station building.

The deep night was perfect for traveling.

Yunzhou Leaning Mountain Farm was 1,500 kilometers away. Even if the zombie horde advanced 24 hours non-stop, they could only travel 70-80 kilometers per day at most.

For him to reach Yunzhou Leaning Mountain Farm from here would take more than 20 days, not even a month.

Moreover, he felt his forces were not at their limit yet. He wanted to take this time to further expand his troops, which would undoubtedly delay him further.

So he had to move a little faster.

Vast numbers of zombies began to move, slowly advancing northward along the highway.

Though their pace was sluggish, in this world, there was now no one who could obstruct their march.

********

Xiao Fan was unaware of the events that had occurred in Yanshan Town.

He personally led his people to the train station near Sishui County, where they had disembarked, to wait.

They waited until 5 PM when the train finally arrived.

The people from Yanshan Town began to disembark.

Xiao Fan also saw his father and sister, happily chatting with them briefly.

"Get on board. We're heading to our new base. Although it's still rather crude there, it's safe, and everyone can live and build without worry."

Over 200 survivors boarded the vehicles and the convoy headed directly for the City of Dawn.

Along the way, across a stretch of wilderness, they could vaguely see Yunzhou Leaning Mountain Farm in the distance.

There were still a few survivors at that farm, hiding in several houses. Xiao Fan's group had passed by a few times, but those survivors never appeared.

Whether out of fear or something else, they just hid and avoided contact.

Xiao Fan didn't want to disturb anyone, so if they didn't show up, so be it. They would only be a burden now.

As they passed Yunzhou Leaning Mountain Farm, he could faintly see the lights from a few places there.

But just as they were passing by, the lights suddenly went out all at once!

"What's going on?" Xiao Fan was taken aback.

But he immediately thought of a possibility and told the engineer Ai Yin, "Take two soldiers back to the train and see if it can still be powered on."

He wanted to confirm one thing. The train ran on electricity, but it was clearly not the same power source as Yunzhou Leaning Mountain Farm. If both places lost power, then the situation might be serious.

A Jeep 212 quickly raced back and caught up with the main group after a while.

"Commander, there's a blackout. The train can't be powered on."

Xiao Fan silently nodded. It was a complete blackout, as expected.

Although this had long been anticipated, now that it had truly arrived, his mood was still rather heavy.

While this might not greatly affect the City of Dawn, for the survivors still in hiding, it was almost a catastrophe.

From today onwards, they had lost electricity, lost lighting tools, lost refrigerators for storing food, and lost appliances for heating and cooking.

They might have to leave their homes and face the dangers outside.

But after prolonged hiding, they lacked the courage and means to confront the zombies.

Without a doubt, the death rate of human survivors would spike again during this period.

The initial outbreak was a disaster, and now this complete blackout would be the second disaster.

The true darkness had descended!
