Emily was like a changed person.
The momentum with which she shot arrows was different now - every arrow hitting the bullseye and penetrating the target!
Although her level was low, she was somehow always able to find the weak points of the monsters and deliver a fatal blow.
As a result, the more she fought, the braver she became, even beginning to actively climb to high vantage points to scout for monsters nearby.
Lin Feng watched her experience points skyrocket and fell into contemplation.
As her level increased, the experience needed to level up again also differed.
Logically, it should become slower and slower.
Yet in just half a day, Emily had gained two levels and was now Level 12.
"Did you get injected with chicken blood or something? Suddenly you're so fierce - nothing like your usual self," Lin Feng thought for a while and couldn't help but quip, "You were such a scaredy cat yesterday."
With her hands on her hips, Emily haughtily proclaimed, "With you behind me protecting me, what is there to be afraid of?"
Lin Feng smiled.
No wonder the sudden ferocity.
Fear is the mind killer.
No matter how capable one is, mastery of eighteen martial arts, the moment one feels fear towards the monsters, it becomes very easy to lose one's ability to think clearly and thus expose vulnerabilities.
Let a master archer who can shoot arrows through walls enter a real battlefield, they may not necessarily fare better than a seasoned veteran soldier.
And this silly girl Emily, knowing Lin Feng was protecting her, was simply being recklessly brave, having probably already tossed all fear out the window.
"Even if I'm not by your side, you should still be like this," Lin Feng paused for a bit, recalling her fighting style, "Calm down and you'll make fewer mistakes."
"I can't do that. I don't want to lose my little life." Emily yawned, then stared intently at Lin Feng.
What was the implication here? Was this a hint?
"Let's rest early today and wake up earlier tomorrow morning."
"Okay." Lin Feng surveyed their surroundings. He noticed two large flat boulders standing on a small earthen mound.
This was a perfect spot to rest!
Lin Feng climbed a tree and gathered some thick branches to make a cover overhead, then used rubble to block up the opening in the back.
The resting area was set up, not rainproof but it could block out some light.
Inside, there was just nice space for one person. Two people would be a tight squeeze.
Lin Feng went in first, and Emily crawled in right after.
She very naturally sat on Lin Feng's body, then sprawled atop him.
"Actually you can sleep beside me."
"Sleeping on you is nice and warm. The rocks are hard and cold, I don't like them." Emily slipped her hands inside Lin Feng's clothes, groping around randomly, "And I'm soft and squishy, isn't it quite comfortable hugging me?"
Hehehe......
Although Lin Feng didn't react outwardly, he admitted it in his heart.
"Having a little nest to sleep in feels so nice. Good night." Emily blinked her eyes gently yet coquettishly.
A succubus! She must have been a succubus in her past life!
Lin Feng was about to lose control.
"I advise you to restrain yourself, otherwise I'll have to......"
Emily laughed. She moved closer to Lin Feng's ear and whispered softly, "Actually I want to see what abilities a mere human has."
The breath that blew out tickled Lin Feng's ear.
"How daring, you silly rabbit!" Lin Feng grabbed one of her rabbit ears.
"Oww oww oww, I won't tease anymore, let's sleep." Having said that, Emily hugged Lin Feng's neck tightly and went limp on top of him.
Warm, soft and squishy, this weight in his arms felt just right.
...
The two slept till morning the next day.
Emily had said to wake up early yesterday, but today she was still sleeping like a pig.
"Time to wake up, bunny! We've still got to find medicine for you today."
Emily opened her groggy eyes, rubbed them, then sat up.
She slipped a hand into her clothes and scratched her chest a little.
Seeing Lin Feng staring, she made no attempt to conceal herself.
Through the gaps, Lin Feng could see her chest tightly bound by cloth strips.
To grow to such proportions even when constrained?
Lush crops sprouting from barren soil... Holy cow!
Emily sighed lightly, somewhat helplessly complaining, "Your eyes, glued on me every second."
"You're not even trying to cover up, how can I not look?" Lin Feng whistled innocently as he explained.
"Want to touch my ears?" Emily poked her own bunny ears, "I saw how much you like touching Yuna and Yuli's."
"Maybe tonight."
That way he could get a human bolster as well, killing two birds with one stone!
Suddenly, a strange thought occurred to Lin Feng.
"If you and I were to fall in love, is there anything I need to pay attention to?"
He never went into battle unprepared.
He had human experiences, but experiences with beastmen were a blank.
Since he was prepared to claim Emily, he naturally had to understand some of the basics in this area.
"I have no experience so I'm not sure. Just be gentle I guess." Emily spread her hands helplessly.
Lin Feng nodded.
After all she would be his wife, he still had to dote on her.
"Alright, let's continue looking for medicine."
Emily paused briefly, tugging at one rabbit ear, "Huh? So soon? No hugging me for a while first?"
"Back when I hated you, you insisted on bullying me." Emily's resentful puppy eyes were strangely adorable, "Now I don't hate you anymore, yet you don't bully me as much."
"Waa waa, you don't understand. Some things are most fragrant when you can't obtain them! Just like a lickdog, what they enjoy most is the feeling of licking, once they can lick it loses meaning." Lin Feng got up and brushed the mud off himself.
Emily didn't comprehend his meaning. After pondering for a while, she said, "Then shall I pretend a little?"
"Let's forget it. Wouldn't that just be asking for unnecessary suffering? Let's keep looking for stuff." Lin Feng lifted a hand to tidy her messy hair.
...
The two stopped by a small stream.
Emily pointed at the stream, "After crossing this, the land ahead will be elven territory."
Lin Feng adjusted his hood properly, also covering his face. His entire body reeked of Emily's scent. With casual observation, it should not be apparent he was human.
He used Identify to scan ahead. There was nothing hidden in the trees.
"Takizawa flowers, crimson red, five petals, thorns on the roots, like sunlight." Lin Feng continued recalling, "Correct?"
To be honest, all this way they had just been leveling Emily up, not really searching properly.
"Correct." Emily nodded, hopping from rock to rock to cross the stream.
Lin Feng followed behind her, focusing on open areas without tree cover where sunlight would be strongest.
"There's a red one over there!"
"Where?" Emily looked in the direction Lin Feng was pointing. In the midst of the lush greenery was a conspicuous flash of red.
She excitedly ran over, observed for a while, then shook her head, "It's not the one."
For some reason, Lin Feng somehow felt she was a little unreliable.
"Have you seen this kind of flower before?"
Emily nodded.
Then there was no issue.
"There's another one up ahead."
Going over to take a look, this was not it either...
Emily sighed, "Takizawa flowers are extremely rare. Even if you're lucky, it's not possible to find them so easily right..."
"There's another one here, red, five petals, thorns on the stem, nicely bathed in sunlight."
"How is that possible? They are so rare..."
Emily was rendered speechless.
Indeed it was!
The sacred flower of the White Feather Rabbit Tribe, yet it was found so easily.
Bathed in sunlight, it stood tall and noble.
Emily slowly squatted down, cupping the flower in her hands, "It seems I spoke too soon. You really are lucky."
