I Bought a Adorable Beast-Eared Slave Girl Chapter 85

Yuna gently lifted up the Magic Sword.

"Huh?"

Red Scale was stunned for a moment, her face changing dramatically.

She saw Yuna lightly swing the sword a few times, the gems on it starting to shine with a dazzling radiance.

Soon after, colored runes emerged from the hilt, swirling around her arm one circle before disappearing without a trace.

Despite being several meters away, Lin Feng could feel the immense magical power that the blade abruptly emitted.

Yuna looked around at everyone, a trace of confusion on her face: "Isn't this sword quite light?"

"Let me try!" The instant Emily took the sword, she lost her balance and kneeled on the ground, her hand also pinned underneath.

Yuna quickly lifted up the sword: "Is your hand okay?"

"It's fine... This sword is so strange. I can't even lift it up, but it didn't hurt at all when it pressed down on my hand." Emily patted her hand on her body.

While everyone was discussing, Lin Feng already had the answer in his heart.

The Magic Sword must have chosen Yuna as its master.

"Put me down! Put me down! Master, you're squeezing my wings so hard!"

Red Scale kept writhing left and right, puckering her lips as if she would cry any moment.

Seeing this, Lin Feng had no choice but to put her down.

The silly dragon rushed towards the Magic Sword the moment she landed, snatching it from their hands and hugging it in her embrace.

"This is mine!"

As it turned out, the sword was so heavy that she couldn't support it properly. She and the sword both tumbled to the ground as she struggled hard to get up again.

Yuna scratched her head and pointed at the Crystal Giant Sword on her back, "I won't fight with you for it, I already have one."

Red Scale squinted her eyes with profound meaning, eyeing her closely. After a few seconds, she blurted out, "I don't believe you!"

Yuna turned around and walked over to Lin Feng's side. Since the other person didn't believe her, she didn't want to say anything more.

Lin Feng sighed lightly.

Red Scale probably couldn't take the sword away herself either. It'd be better to just give it to Yuna. After all, they would be family sooner or later.

"How about this, I'll buy it from you, okay? How much do you want for this sword?" Lin Feng patted the money pouch at his waist. "You don't use greatswords anyway, and if you keep it, you'll probably just sell it later. Rather than selling it to a stranger, why not let it stay with our own?"

"Why bother buying it? We can just take it. Let's see if she dares say a word against it!" Rosalind said and strode towards Red Scale with intention to snatch the sword.

Red Scale's tail straightened as she bared her fangs at Rosalind.

"Forget it, just give her the money if she wants it. It was her who found it after all." The corners of Lin Feng's mouth curled up slightly.

Seeing his expression, Rosalind immediately understood his intentions.

Yuna's wolf ears pricked up and she quickly waved her hands at Lin Feng, "I already have a good one! Two would be too much for me to handle, I don't need it."

"The quality and tier of these two weapons can't compare at all."

"Still don't want it. It'd be too wasteful. We might as well sell it for money..."

Just as the two were debating, Red Scale silently raised a finger.

Lin Feng glanced over and was overjoyed, "One gold coin? We really are family!"

"No no!" Red Scale shook her head and hugged the giant sword tightly.

"Ten coins then? That's a fair price too, but could you give us a family discount..." Lin Feng didn't get to finish before Red Scale interrupted him.

"What are you thinking? At least a hundred!"

"A hundred!" Lin Feng cried out in astonishment, giving the Beastkin girls a huge shock. "Do you understand what you just said?"

Red Scale clung onto the big sword tightly, afraid someone might snatch this treasure away.

"A hundred gold coins! Many people in Lance City can't even earn that much in their lifetime. And you just blurt out such a number!"

"With that much money, even if you used it all to buy fish, you couldn't finish eating before starving yourself to death!"

"We're husband and wife! How could you be so heartless as to name that figure to me? Do you not have a heart? Wahhh!"

Red Scale's tail drooped as she gently swept the ground's dust.

Lin Feng knew his realistic acting must have moved her.

"Then... How much should it be?"

"Ten coins."

Red Scale thought she had misheard. She picked at her ears and looked expectantly at Lin Feng.

"Deal?"

"How much did you say?"

"One."

Red Scale rolled her eyes, leaving Lin Feng to contemplate that himself.

She felt that splitting it halfway was already her limit. Yet Lin Feng had come out swinging right from the start.

One coin?

Although she didn't know exactly how much that could buy, Yuna and the others could earn a coin by killing things in the labyrinth for a day or two.

"You think that's still too little?"

"Boss, I'm not stupid. If you were me, would you sell it at that price?"

"Of course I would! Even if the price isn't ideal, you're still my wife. I'd naturally give it to you." Lin Feng beamed at her, wanting to charm her with his appeal.

"Even if you try deceiving me, I can still see through it."

"Fine, we couldn't agree on a price. Let's go, we need to first figure out how to get out of here." Lin Feng pushed the Beastkin girls and started leaving.

Leaving Red Scale alone struggling to drag the giant sword.

"Boss, can you help me carry this? I'm having a bit of trouble pulling it!"

"Oh? If you're willing to go cheaper..."

Red Scale cleanly rejected, "No deal!"

"Then no deal for me either. Carry it yourself out of here." Lin Feng turned back around.

After the group walked some distance, Yuna carefully bumped Lin Feng with her shoulder, "We're really not going to help her?"

"We'll circle back around. It's not like she can get far dragging that thing anyway."

Suddenly, Red Scale let out a shriek.

Lin Feng reflexively looked back. The giant sword was flying straight at Yuna!

With a raise of his hand, Lin Feng swatted the sword away dozens of meters.

The sword fell heavily on the ground, flopping around like a beached fish.

"What the hell? Did that sword get possessed or something? How can it move by itself!" Emily tightly clutched Lin Feng's waist. She felt this sword was somewhat sinister.

"I've heard that weapons with a will of their own exist in this world. Forged by master blacksmiths, they are also imbued with life magic. This thing is probably one of those weapons." Lin Feng shielded Yuna behind him as he fixed his eyes warily on the magic sword lying on the ground.

"My sword!" Red Scale ran towards the magic sword, wanting to hug it again.

"Stay away from it, be careful!"

Yet, for some reason, the magic sword suddenly stood upright and always fled in the opposite direction of Red Scale.

"Don't run! Wahhh..."

Red Scale cried while chasing it until she tripped over a rock and took a nasty fall.

Witnessing this scene, Lin Feng couldn't help but feel speechless.

The sword's hilt bounced on the ground as it slowly approached Yuna, seemingly decelerating so they wouldn't feel threatened.

When it got close, the magic sword spun around in the air, signaling for Yuna to grab hold of it.

"What's it trying to do?" Yuna was somewhat confused.

"It probably acknowledged you as its new master. It wants you to become its wielder." Lin Feng gently stroked his chin. "Hold onto it and see. Tell me right away if anything feels off."

Yuna reached out her small hand and firmly grasped the hilt.

Instantly, the magic sword reverted back to its lifeless form.
