Kidnapper System: The Kidnapped Girls All Became Yanderes Chapter 124

"Beep beep..."

Just as Ye Feng was organizing his thoughts, his phone suddenly rang. When he picked it up and saw the caller ID, he realized it was Ah Fu.

"Ah Fu? Shouldn't he be recovering from his injuries right now? Why is he calling me all of a sudden?"

After pressing the answer button, Ah Fu's voice came through the phone.

"Ye Feng, how have you been lately?"

"Thanks for asking, I'm fine now. But you, Ah Fu, should focus on recovering properly."

"Don't worry, my tough body is already strong enough to walk around now."

Ah Fu chuckled and then continued.

"The reason I'm calling you at this hour isn't anything major. Following Mr. Li's instructions, I've already transferred this month's salary to your account. You might want to double-check the amount when it arrives. There might be a slight discrepancy from what you expected, but don't make a big deal out of it."

"Oh, that's what this is about. Got it. By the way, about the money you lent me earlier..."

Before Ye Feng could finish, Ah Fu interrupted him.

"Ye Feng, don't bring that up. You saved my life. Forget about the money. If you ever need any help in the future, just say the word. I, Ah Fu, won't hesitate for a second!"

Listening to Ah Fu's enthusiastic tone, Ye Feng wasn't sure how to respond. But he knew that since Ah Fu had made it clear, there was no need to be overly polite. It was better to just accept it straightforwardly.

"Alright, alright, I appreciate your kindness. Don't worry about helping me or anything. Just focus on recovering properly."

"Got it. I won't disturb your rest any longer then."

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, they hung up. Ye Feng recalled Ah Fu mentioning a discrepancy in his salary. Although he didn't know the exact amount, he figured it must be somewhat different from the original agreed sum.

"Perhaps the recent kidnapping incident caused some financial issues for Li Corporation. Plus, the costs of repairing the estate and handling the media must have been substantial, which might have affected my salary."

"But it doesn't matter. After all, my goal isn't about the money. I don't really care about the salary."

With that, Ye Feng opened his online banking app, intending to check his monthly expenses and take a quick glance at his salary. But what he saw left him utterly stunned.

"Huh? Why are there so many zeros in front of my balance? Did the currency in this world depreciate? Wait... this seems..."

Upon closer inspection, Ye Feng realized it wasn't a case of currency depreciation. Instead, two extra zeros had been added to his original balance.

"Ten million and one thousand... What! How much? Ten million!!!"

Ye Feng refreshed his account balance and confirmed it multiple times. The ten million was indeed there. At that moment, Ye Feng was completely dumbfounded.

"Ah Fu... you call this a slight discrepancy? This is way off the mark..."

......

Meanwhile, in the office of Li Corporation, Li Jing was holding a photo frame, deeply engrossed in a picture of Li Mucheng and another beautiful woman. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

"Come in."

In response to Li Jing's calm tone, a company executive walked in, holding a ledger.

"Mr. Li, pardon the interruption, but there's been an unexpected deduction of ten million from the company's accounts. According to the transaction details, it was transferred to a private account under the name of a Mr. Ye. While this amount isn't significant for our company, I wanted to confirm if there was any new contract or project that wasn't recorded?"

"No need to record it. Consider it as coming from my personal account."

"Understood."

After the executive left, Li Jing placed the photo frame back on his desk. For once, the usually stern man showed a rare smile.

"My dear, Mucheng is living happily now. Her resentment towards me isn't as strong as it used to be. All of this is thanks to that young man. If you were still here, I'm sure you'd approve of him too. He's one of the few good men out there."

......

"Hum hum hum~"

In a dessert shop, a staff member was humming a tune while cleaning up the store. Suddenly, the doorbell chimed.

"Huh? I thought I put up the 'Closed' sign?"

The staff member looked up curiously, only to see an incredibly beautiful but cold-looking woman walking in. She quickly straightened her uniform, hurried over, and gave a slight bow.

"Hello, ma'am. I'm terribly sorry, but we're already closed. If you'd like to purchase some pastries, please come back tomorrow."

"......"

After the staff member spoke, the woman remained motionless, her eyes scanning the surroundings as if searching for something.

"Ma'am?"

At the staff member's call, the woman turned her cold gaze towards her.

"Hello, may I ask you something?"

"Of course, ma'am. What would you like to know?"

"Did a very handsome man come here this afternoon? He was about this tall."

"Uh..."

The staff member blinked rapidly at the woman's description, then replied apologetically.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but your description is a bit too broad. We have a lot of customers every day, so it might be difficult to find the person you're looking for."

"What about the surveillance footage? Can I take a look?"

"I'm sorry, ma'am, but unfortunately, our surveillance system broke down recently. I apologize for the inconvenience."

The staff member bowed again. It wasn't that she didn't want to help, but the surveillance system had indeed malfunctioned. It seemed that many devices in the area had experienced a brief outage one afternoon, and unfortunately, their shop's system had been permanently damaged as a result.

"It's broken? I see. Thank you."

"You're welcome, ma'am. Have a good day."

Watching the woman elegantly walk away, the staff member didn't think much of it. She walked to the door, noticed the 'Closed' sign was still up, shrugged, and continued cleaning the store.

Li Mucheng slowly got into her car parked by the street. She took one last deep look at the shop through the window before the car's window slowly closed. With a roar, the car sped off.

"Maybe I should have someone keep an eye on this place. I can't shake the feeling that something's off. Is it just my imagination...?"
