“Krisha, can you tell me what happened after I died?”
Xu Xi continued to question the witch.
He was curious and puzzled. After the second simulation ended, what exactly had happened to Krisha that caused the words “Supreme Deity” to appear on the simulator’s settlement panel?
“Yes, after you left…”
Krisha parted her lips and, in a calm tone, recounted the story of what happened after Xu Xi’s death.
It began with the discovery of the manuscripts in the study.
Then came the uprooting of the churches of the gods and the eradication of divine worship.
Next was the assault on the heavenly realm.
Krisha’s tone was steady, devoid of any emotion, as if she were mechanically reciting the past word by word.
When Xu Xi heard about Krisha crushing the crown of the magical world, he fell silent, his expression one of disbelief. Had he truly become a sacrificial offering?
But the shock Krisha brought didn’t end there.
She marched into the chaos, conquered countless realms, and waged war against the gods of the heavens.
Krisha was terrifyingly powerful.
Her dazzling achievements and astonishing rate of progression made Xu Xi doubt whether the witch who could trample the gods of chaos was the same Krisha he had known.
“It’s truly unbelievable…”
After listening to Krisha’s account, Xu Xi gazed at her calm and obedient face. No matter how he looked at it, he couldn’t connect her with the so-called Supreme Witch.
A Supreme Deity surpassing even the might of the Great Gods?
The Lord of Time and Space, symbolizing creation and annihilation?
An eternal being transcending chaos?
Xu Xi didn’t understand gods. His only knowledge of them came from the faint divine power the God of Light had released when Alenson destroyed the city.
He couldn’t imagine what kind of power the more terrifying and lofty divine forces, like Great Divine Power, could wield.
And he couldn’t fathom how extraordinary a being Krisha, who bore such fearsome titles and truly reigned supreme over all realms, must be. In the end, all that remained in Xu Xi’s mind was a vague impression.
Strong! Unbelievably strong! Supremely strong!
“As long as you’re safe and sound,” Xu Xi said, marveling at Krisha’s growth, as he reached out his hand and gently ruffled the top of her head.
His voice was soft, filled with tenderness and affection.
Xu Xi didn’t really care about Krisha’s power. What concerned him more was the perilous journey she had undertaken. Fortunately, everything had turned out fine.
According to his original plan, Xu Xi had wanted Krisha to live a peaceful and stable life in the magical world.
A quiet, reclusive existence.
He never imagined that his death would provoke such a drastic change, driving Krisha to overthrow the gods and embark on a path he had never envisioned.
Was this a stroke of luck born from a twist of fate?
Xu Xi didn’t think so.
If time could be reversed, even knowing that Krisha would become a Supreme Deity, Xu Xi wouldn’t have allowed her to engage in such battles.
Compared to power, he cared more about Krisha’s safety.
This was the one thing, the only thing, that Xu Xi truly valued.
“Thud—”
Xu Xi bent his index finger and lightly tapped Krisha’s smooth forehead, admonishing her, “You mustn’t be so reckless in the future.”
“Yes…”
Krisha absently rubbed her forehead.
Though she responded verbally, her expression made it doubtful whether she had truly taken his words to heart.
The living room was vast and the lighting somewhat dim. The two sat together, and while the atmosphere should have felt desolate and lonely, for some reason, Krisha, being scolded, felt nothing but peace.
She knew the reason.
It was because of Xu Xi, her sun, who was by her side, bringing her comfort and warmth.
Then, Xu Xi began to inquire about other matters.
He briefly learned about the changes in Krisha’s life after the second simulation ended and the authority she wielded as a Supreme Deity.
Suddenly, Xu Xi thought of an important question.
“Krisha, is the person sitting here and talking to me your true self?”
Xu Xi’s expression was hesitant.
Earth was too fragile. Compared to the vast celestial bodies in the universe, Earth was undoubtedly insignificant.
Even as it began to ascend and expand, it was still far from being able to withstand the presence of a Supreme Deity. Yet, how could Krisha be here before him?
Krisha answered, “I met a kind-hearted person.”
“A kind-hearted person?”
“Yes. They taught me how to project my consciousness. The person sitting here and talking to you is just a fragment of my consciousness…”
“I see.”
Xu Xi suddenly understood.
No wonder Krisha could ignore her supreme nature and descend upon fragile Earth. The being before him was merely an insignificant sliver of her true self.
In that case, being able to reunite with Krisha ahead of time was indeed something to be grateful for.
That kind-hearted person must be a benevolent and immensely powerful deity, right?
“Truly a good person,” Xu Xi remarked with admiration. He had always thought that the stronger one became in the supernatural hierarchy, the more detached and indifferent they would be. He never expected there to be such a helpful and compassionate being.
Xu Xi didn’t notice.
As he moved his wrist, the Eternal Tear, which he inadvertently revealed, caught the attention of Krisha’s hollow eyes.
“This feels… familiar…”
In the time that followed, Xu Xi took Krisha around the courtyard, showing her the layout of the various rooms and selecting a new bedroom for her.
Along the way, Xu Xi jokingly said that from now on, he would rely on Krisha to protect him, given how terrifyingly strong she had become.
Xu Xi had meant it as a lighthearted remark, but Krisha seemed to take it seriously, following him closely like a shadow, diligently guarding him.
The study, the kitchen, the training room.
They walked through each room.
Their final destination was Xu Xi’s room.
As the door opened, the first thing that caught Krisha’s eye was the large, prominent wooden display cabinet. Inside were familiar items: the gray Reignition Wand and a completely ordinary-looking jar of candies whose meaning was unclear.
“Mentor, what is this…”
Krisha’s voice carried a hint of confusion.
“Surprised, aren’t you, Krisha?”
Xu Xi took out a key, opened the glass door of the cabinet, and picked up the charred wand.
“The wand you lost all those years ago somehow found its way back to me. I wanted to keep it as a memento, but since you’re back, do you want to take it back?”
“After all, it was originally yours.”
Hearing Xu Xi’s question, Krisha shook her head slightly, her gaze fixed on the jar of candies in the first compartment.
Her voice was faint, almost dazed, “Mentor, what is that?”
Xu Xi replied, “How should I put it? It’s hard to explain. It’s an important memory, even though it looks like just an ordinary jar of candies.”
Krisha seemed to understand, though only vaguely.
She wasn’t foolish.
When it came to matters concerning Xu Xi, the clumsy witch was more perceptive than ever.
With Xu Xi’s permission, Krisha stepped forward and adjusted the positions of the wand and the jar of candies.
Now, the wand occupied the first position.
