The Body Snatching Case

Hotel Suite.

"What did you say? Someone's stealing corpses?" Xu Mo, who had been sleeping for two hours and was playing with his phone, received a call from Chen Ke.

"Okay, I'll head over right away."

Their conversation ended quickly.

After hanging up, Xu Mo hurriedly put on his shoes and left for the hospital.

The hotel was near the hospital, so it didn't take Xu Mo long to get there.

When he arrived, the local police hadn't shown up yet.

At the hospital entrance, Xu Mo met up with Chen Ke.

"What's going on? Someone's stealing corpses? Did you see it yourself?" Xu Mo asked directly.

After listening, Xu Mo nodded slightly: "Then it really could be someone stealing corpses. I definitely don't believe in corpses coming back to life."

After their excitement finally settled, the local officers remembered their purpose and slapped their foreheads: "Look at my memory... Got so excited I forgot why we came. You reported someone stealing corpses?"

Chen Ke thought, finally getting to the point, and nodded: "Yes, someone's stealing corpses. Here's what happened: I was in the ward when I heard someone shouting about a corpse coming back to life..."

After hearing Chen Ke's explanation, the officers furrowed their brows.

Regarding corpses coming back to life, they shared Chen Ke's view - it was impossible. After all, corpses aren't living beings, how could they move?

Plus, Chen Ke had relayed the young nurse's words verbatim, proving that the corpse wasn't someone pretending, but an actual corpse.

However, they couldn't figure out exactly how the person made the corpse move.

"I might have missed some details. You can check the surveillance footage and question the hospital's patients, nurses, and security guards to get the full story. You're busy, so my friend and I will head out," Chen Ke said.

Before leaving, he added a courtesy phrase: "If you need any help from us, feel free to ask. We're all in the same system, and if we can help, we definitely will."

Such courtesies usually aren't taken seriously.
