Feelin 'Each Other

Pang Shuo did not spend more time cursing the support. The lizardmen launched another wave of attacks.

It disappeared on the spot, and several afterimages approached closely.

Having learned from Lin Cang's experience, Pang Shuo did not dare to take the attacks head-on.

He grabbed Lin Cang and threw him out the door, while he himself rolled on the ground to dodge the attack.

Claws left a neat, smooth circular hole where they had just been.

Pang Shuo moved swiftly and nimbly, not giving the lizardmen a chance to get close.

"Liu Ying, how much longer?"

Hearing the captain's words, Liu Ying fired a bullet and looked at her watch, freeing up her hand.

"Eleven minutes."

The bullet hit the E-level monster, twisting and turning, transforming into a small meat grinder that shredded its arm.

This was Liu Ying's superpower, giving objects the attribute of shredding.

The one person and one monster in the room were like dancers in a duo, advancing and retreating in tandem.

Qi Yuan, however, knew things were developing in a bad direction.

"First paralyze this fool, take the opportunity to stab the wooden-headed guy to death, so there's no chance of a zombie surprise," he thought.

"Hmm... Better make it a stab from afar, just in case," he mused.

Aren't you being a bit too cautious?

After mocking the monster inwardly, he turned his gaze to Pang Shuo, drenched in sweat.

The monsters' physical fitness was much better than humans'. Pang Shuo had failed to dodge completely several times, relying on his superpower to protect himself.

Although not seriously injured, his strength and energy consumption were huge. It looked like he couldn't hold out much longer.

He had to do something to buy time for Lin Cang and Pang Shuo to recover some strength and hold out until the spatial distortion in eleven minutes.

Luckily, this monster was too cautious, which was its downfall.

It had so many cards yet didn't play them, when killing them all would have kept anyone from knowing what cards it had.

And he could take advantage of this.

There was no time to lose; waiting longer would mean Pang Shuo getting seriously injured too. That would greatly reduce the effect of buying time for two injured people to rest.

"Are you looking for me?"

Qi Yuan got up from his sneaky hiding place where he'd been since the start of the battle, and walked out.

The battling lizardman and Pang Shuo pulled apart, looking towards Qi Yuan.

Seeing the newcomer, the lizardman's slender pupils contracted.

"Who are you?"

Qi Yuan gasped.

This script was wrong; the director should yell "cut" for a retake!

But reality did not come with a rewind button. Qi Yuan awkwardly ad-libbed:

"Didn't the guy lying on the floor say you were looking for a human with golden eyes?"

"What's that got to do with you?"

Qi Yuan stood so unguarded and full of holes before the lizardman, yet it was even more wary than when facing the two superhumans earlier.

Abnormal things were sure to have tricks.

For the cautious monster, not knowing someone's depths was tantamount to unfathomable depths.

The lizardman considered for a moment, then decided to "friendly" communicate with Qi Yuan.

Qi Yuan chuckled lightly, looking around with a shrug.

"You're right, what does a golden-eyed human have to do with me, Qi Yuan?"

Everyone on the scene let out low laughter.

Not only was the cautious monster cautious, it was also suspicious.

Since Qi Yuan didn't admit it, it grew suspicious that he was actually Golden Eyes.

It looked Qi Yuan up and down dubiously, increasingly feeling something was off, and scrutinized his eye color even more closely.

"Maybe he said 'golden' because 'light brown' doesn't sound awesome enough? Or is the dim light messing with my color perception?" it wondered.

"Cut the crap. Don't think I can't recognize you, Golden Eyes."

The cautious monster decided on direct probing.

Qi Yuan neither confirmed nor denied, simply saying, "I don't recall running into you before."

"It's definitely Golden Eyes after all, luckily I probed," thought the monster.

Its eyes swiveled as it quickly recalled what its underling had said.

"I heard you like teaching monsters a lesson. How about a taste of this move?"

It condensed spatial blades in its palms, then turned both palms towards Qi Yuan and continuously unleashed them.

Swish swish swish—

The crescent-shaped spatial blades shot out without pause, aimed right at Qi Yuan.

Boom boom boom—

Qi Yuan was engulfed by the spatial blades, the swirling dust obscuring everyone's view.

"Hey kid, don't kick the bucket from carelessness!"

It had all happened so quickly. Believing the video represented Qi Yuan's true strength, Pang Shuo was totally unprepared for him to just stand there and take the spatial blade attacks without even trying to dodge.

The continuous bombardment ended, and the swirling dust gradually settled too.

A figure stood in place, one hand over his face.

From her spot in the corridor, Miao Miao Tu had been secretly livestreaming the scene. Seeing what was happening, her heart lurched.

He couldn't have hurt his face, right?

Oh no, such a handsome face can't just be gone like that!!

Just as everyone was worried,

"Pfff—"

Suddenly, the figure on the scene burst out laughing, as if someone had tickled him and he couldn't stop.

After laughing hard for over ten seconds, he finally spoke cheerfully.

"You're pretty smart, just not using your brains where you should."

"I've... been completely seen through..." thought the lizardman.

With its scaly skin, it was hard to discern facial expressions, but one could clearly see its shocked expression from the intense impact.

"How did he know about my spatial movement, spatial restraint, tail regrowth..." it wondered.

Qi Yuan: I didn't know before, now I do.

The lizardman put up a front. Its words were completely unconvincing.

"If you want to trick me, you're still too young."

The successful stall boosted Qi Yuan's confidence tremendously. He nodded at its hopeful gaze and casually said, as if making small talk:

"Ah right, I was tricking you."

He paused a second before continuing:

"You definitely don't have spatial movement, spatial restraint, tail regrowth..."

With each revelation, the lizardman's initial elation vanished bit by bit, until its last glimmer of hope was snuffed out. It felt its scales tingle all over, really wanting to quickly flee the scene to scratch them for relief.

But it couldn't; a cautious monster would never turn its back on an enemy to run away.

It let out "he he" laughter, acting tougher than it felt: "Looks like you can give me an even more wonderful battle experience. I hope you're not just full of hot air like those two humans."

Having read the lizardman's inner voice, when the barrage of spatial blades descended, Qi Yuan stood stock still at the center, not moving a muscle, too nervous to even breathe.

When humans get nervous enough, they use laughter to relieve the pressure.

After the big laugh, Qi Yuan's pressure plummeted and his mind cleared.

The more abnormally he acted, the less the lizardman dared make a move, since its reason wouldn't crumble without absolute necessity.

That meant he could keep reading its inner voice.

"A wonderful battle experience?"

Qi Yuan looked relaxed, as if just making meaningless small talk like "Have you eaten yet today?"

"Indeed, you still have a few unused cards. Why not tell me what they are so I can have a listen?"

!!!

The lizardman paled in shock. With its scaly skin, it was hard to see expressions, but one could clearly discern its shocked mien from the intense impact.

"How did this human pierce the heavens and see through all my cards - spatial movement, spatial restraint, tail regrowth..." it wondered.

It struggled to stay calm, completely unconvincing as it spoke.

"If you want to trick me, you're still too young."
