Seeing her finally understand, Shen Yi shook his head and chuckled.
"Then next time, come back with me and make an appearance first."
"I’ll introduce you to my dad and recommend you as his assistant at the firm."
Fu Nanzhi thought for a moment and said.
"Hey, don’t do that. If I go with you, it’ll be a miracle if your parents don’t kick me out on the spot."
Although Fu's Father and Fu's Mother are both well-educated and can be considered very open-minded parents.
But even the most open-minded have their limits.
Imagine, their precious daughter suddenly gets swept off her feet by some poor guy who appeared out of nowhere in just three days, and now she’s talking about marriage.
Any parent’s head would probably explode.
In their minds, they’d probably picture a guy with dyed yellow hair, looking like a troublemaker.
And if he added something like, "Old man, my ghost bike is parked downstairs," it would really seal the deal.
"This matter needs to be approached gradually. You’ll need to drop hints here and there."
Shen Yi wrapped his arm around Fu Nanzhi’s shoulder and said.
"Okay, okay, I’ll bring it up next time, so they can start getting used to the idea."
Shen Yi made sense, so Fu Nanzhi could only nod her little head in agreement.
"What about your parents? Should we visit them too?"
"My side is easier. You know my mom has been hoping I’d get married right after graduation. She’s been waiting for this."
"Without you, she’d probably be setting me up on blind dates in a year or two."
As he spoke, Shen Yi pressed his forehead against Fu Nanzhi’s smooth one, nuzzling her.
"Besides, with such a beautiful daughter-in-law like you, how could she not be won over?"
Fu Nanzhi pouted proudly,
"Hmph, of course."
"So when are we going to visit our parents?"
Shen Yi stroked his chin thoughtfully and said,
"Whenever you’re free. It’ll take at least two days to go back to my hometown."
Fu Nanzhi had naturally been there many times in her past life, and had even moved the elderly couple to live with them later on, so she nodded in agreement,
"Alright, I’ll arrange some time off then."
Although they had already been married once, her tone was still full of anticipation as she spoke,
"I wish time would hurry up. I can’t wait to get married tomorrow."
"Ugh, just thinking about having to go to work tomorrow, I already feel unmotivated."
Shen Yi looked at her cute, tilted head and couldn’t help but kiss her cheek.
"Will a little energy boost do the trick?"
"Alright, it’s getting late. You said you have work tomorrow, so let’s sleep."
"But I’m not sleepy, hubby. Let’s chat a bit more."
The aftereffects of her afternoon nap were kicking in, and Fu Nanzhi was wide awake.
Shen Yi had no choice but to hold her in his arms and coax her,
"Be good, close your eyes. I’ll hold you, and you’ll fall asleep soon."
Fu Nanzhi squirmed, unwilling to comply.
Shen Yi turned off the bedside lamp and held her firmly, preventing her from moving around.
The room darkened and gradually quieted down.
After a while, Fu Nanzhi opened her eyes and whispered,
"Hubby, I can’t sleep. How about we do it one more time? I’ll get sleepy after that."
Faced with such an outrageous request, Shen Yi ignored her completely, responding only with steady breathing.
Shen Yi didn’t pay her any attention, and in the pitch-black room, she soon grew bored.
Before long, drowsiness crept in, and she slowly fell asleep.
……
The next morning, when Fu Nanzhi woke up, Shen Yi had already prepared breakfast for her.
After a day and night of rest, she was feeling much better.
At least she could walk normally now, as long as she didn’t overdo it, it wouldn’t affect her daily work.
Fu Nanzhi put on a serious business suit, though it did nothing to diminish her beauty.
She walked over to the table, picked up a glass of milk, and started gulping it down.
"Slow down, no one’s going to take it from you."
Shen Yi had made her an egg sandwich—something quick and easy she could grab and eat.
He walked over to her, straightened her collar, and carefully smoothed out the wrinkles on her clothes.
Appearance was something Fu Nanzhi cared about deeply. She could be casual in front of Shen Yi, but in front of others, she always had to look perfect.
After finishing breakfast, she was about to leave when Shen Yi handed her her small handbag.
"Feels like I’m turning into a househusband."
Shen Yi joked.
Fu Nanzhi laughed happily, planting a kiss on Shen Yi’s cheek,
"You’re right, hubby, you’re the best. Be a good boy and wait for me to come home from work~"
"Alright, I’m off to work."
As she was about to leave, she suddenly turned back.
Shen Yi asked, puzzled,
"What’s wrong?"
"I forgot something."
Fu Nanzhi walked over to the coffee table, picked up a pair of large black-framed glasses, and put them on before heading out the door.
She didn’t need to wear the glasses in front of Shen Yi, but for work, they were necessary.
The wide, ugly black frames helped tone down her natural charm.
Standing by the door, Shen Yi waved as Fu Nanzhi headed into the underground garage. The small villa fell quiet once again.
Shen Yi cleaned up the dishes and sat back on the couch to relax.
Finally, he had some free time, with nothing urgent on his plate.
"Simulator, activate!"
It had been two days since he last opened the system, and everything was as usual.
Name: Shen Yi
Level: Lv.2
Strength: 8
Stamina: 9
Energy: 9
Charm: 77
Assets: 219,533.5
Romance Points: 4
Attribute Points: 1
Shen Yi instinctively reached to click the simulation button below, but he stopped halfway.
"Should I continue simulating?"
Before, he didn’t know better, but now that he understood the implications, Shen Yi became more cautious.
So far, he had only simulated three people: Jian Leyi, Fu Nanzhi, and Cheng Jun.
Among them, Fu Nanzhi and Cheng Jun clearly retained their memories. Jian Leyi’s situation was uncertain, but it was likely she didn’t.
Shen Yi hadn’t yet figured out the pattern.
"Is it based on the romance rating? Maybe only S or A-level romances retain memories?"
"Or is it the difference between text simulation and scene simulation…"
He could only make some guesses based on the information he had.
Simulation wasn’t just simulation anymore—it could now affect reality.
Because of the simulator, he had Fu Nanzhi and the happy life he now enjoyed.
But also because of simulation, he had gotten involved with Cheng Jun, and their relationship remained unresolved.
So, if he continued simulating, who else might he unintentionally get involved with?
Who else might come back with memories and seek him out, and how would he handle it?
These were all things Shen Yi needed to consider.
He wasn’t the type to treat life like a game. He needed to take responsibility for himself and for Fu Nanzhi, and he was quite satisfied with his current life.
It seemed there was no reason to continue simulating.
But on the other hand, the simulator had given him attributes, skills, and talents that had shaped who he was today. The system still held countless treasures to uncover, and who could easily give that up?
Should he really abandon such a gift from the heavens just because of potential risks?
Shen Yi sat on the couch, torn between two choices.
Should he boldly explore, or should he settle for the status quo?
