Su Yanran was being supported by her mother as they walked along the streets of London. The injury inflicted by Mo Jinpeng had ultimately left irreversible damage, and coupled with a series of subsequent blows, Su Yanran had developed depression and anxiety.
Su's Mother had no other choice but to take her abroad for a trip, hoping it would help her relax and ease her mind.
It had been nearly two years since Su Yanran last saw Mo Xuan. In secret, she had tried to find him, even discovering that he had visited Shangguan Meng's hospital.
When she went to see Shangguan Meng, her former classmate and deskmate, Shangguan Meng almost didn't recognize the person who had once been their school's beauty queen.
Su Yanran's face was pale, her hair disheveled, and she looked much thinner compared to her high school days.
Upon learning her reason for visiting, Shangguan Meng simply glanced at her and then smiled faintly, saying, "I don't understand. Why are you still looking for him?"
Indeed, why was she still looking for him? Su Yanran herself didn't know.
Shangguan Meng didn't tell her anything, only kindly suggesting, "You should see a psychologist."
After that, Su Yanran had been undergoing psychological treatment. This trip abroad was also her mother's suggestion, hoping it would help her unwind.
"Dad~ I want to eat this!"
"...I want it too, but we don't have any money."
Su Yanran heard familiar Chinese and turned her head in surprise.
Mo Xuan was wearing a black hooded jacket, holding the hands of his two daughters, Luo Wei'er and Luo Xue'er. The girls had grown taller, their once chubby baby faces now resembling delicate dolls, both adorable and beautiful.
Mo Xuan's hair had grown a bit longer, and he still wore his familiar black-framed glasses. The trio stood in front of a dessert shop, staring at the cakes inside. The two girls looked pitiful, while Mo Xuan wore an expression of helplessness.
Su Yanran stood not far away, staring at him in a daze. Mo Xuan was still Mo Xuan, unchanged in every way. She noticed that on his left hand, his index finger still bore the black ring, but now there was an additional silver wedding band on his ring finger.
"Is that Mo Xuan?" Su's Mother also spotted him. "Should we go over..."
"No, Mom. Let's not."
Su Yanran knew very well that Mo Xuan was with his daughters, and Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi were likely nearby. She really didn't want to run into those two sisters.
"It's such a rare trip to the UK, and your mom still won't let me carry any money. All the funds in my bank account have been taken by them."
Mo Xuan sighed, his tone full of resignation. He turned to his daughters and said, "Forget it. I'll call and ask your moms to come buy it for you, okay?"
Luo Wei'er and Luo Xue'er could only sigh in frustration. Why was their dad so pitiful?
Their moms were the villains, always so wealthy yet never allowing their dad to carry money or go out freely.
The most infuriating part was that ever since they left the country, the moms had been scheming to monopolize their dad's attention.
They were always whisking him away, disappearing without a trace...
"Dad, why do you always go along with Mom and Auntie?" Luo Wei'er asked, looking at her father with a pout. "You never oppose anything they say."
Mo Xuan smiled, gently patting his daughter's head. "Because Dad loves them, that's why."
In the end, he had grown accustomed to it. The two sisters had managed to outmaneuver him one last time, but this time, he was willing.
Perhaps Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi's way of thinking was different from others. In a daze, he had overheard the final part of their hypnosis session:
"Mr. Mo Xuan, from now on, you are the husband of Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi. You will love them forever, never betray them, and never leave their side again."
What else could he do but agree?
No matter how much they tormented him, even if their love was obsessive and overwhelming, Mo Xuan still found it sweet.
They had eventually moved into the seaside villa they had chosen earlier. Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi had no intention of imprisoning Mo Xuan, but they still kept a close watch on him whenever he went out. His phone was tracked and monitored, but Mo Xuan understood it as simply their lack of security. He always consoled himself with this thought.
For instance, during this trip to the UK, he had wanted to take his daughters out for a stroll. However, not only was he penniless, but the funds in his bank account had long been taken by the sisters.
"Men tend to go astray when they have money. Be good, Xiao Xuan, let me manage your finances for you."
Mo Xuan had listened helplessly to Luo Shiya's nonsense but still handed over his money to her.
It wasn't until today that he finally understood how his father-in-law, Luo Sheng, must have felt toward his mother-in-law, Shen Qingyun. Going along with them wasn't so bad. After all, no one in the world could love him more than they did, and he, too, was filled with love for them.
Mo Xuan picked up his phone. He didn't even make a call, simply muttering, "Come pick us up, will you?"
In no time, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom pulled up in front of the trio.
"I suppose you've been following me all along, haven't you?" Mo Xuan looked at them, feeling a headache coming on. "Why didn't you just come out with me and the girls? What was the point of tracking and monitoring me over such a short distance?"
"Oh, didn't you say you wanted to take the girls out for a walk?" Luo Shiya clung to Mo Xuan, cooing. "Muqi and I were just worried. It's your first time in the UK, and we didn't want you to get lost."
"That's right, brother. See how much trust we have in you?" Luo Muqi grabbed Mo Xuan's other arm, nearly causing Luo Xue'er to stumble. "This time, we kept a whole hundred meters between us!"
Mo Xuan sighed again, unsure how many times he had done so over the past two years.
Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi were as stunning as ever, their beauty only enhanced by the passage of time, now exuding a mature and alluring charm.
From her hidden vantage point, Su Yanran wondered if it was her imagination, but it seemed the sisters not only radiated vitality but also appeared to have even better figures...
"Alright, go buy the girls some cake first..." Mo Xuan pointed helplessly at the dessert shop behind them. "We have a flight to catch tomorrow..."
After a moment's thought, Mo Xuan glanced at Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi and cautiously asked, "But you're pregnant. Is it really okay to travel back now?"
Indeed, despite their reluctance to get pregnant, Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi had once again found themselves expecting, thanks to their unbridled affection for Mo Xuan.
As for why they were pregnant at the same time, it was likely the same as when they had conceived Luo Wei'er and Luo Xue'er.
"It's fine. You heard the doctor at the hospital yesterday—the pregnancies are stable, and they said it's safe to fly," Luo Shiya reassured him with a smile. "Besides, the morning sickness hasn't been too bad this time, so we thought it'd be a good opportunity to return."
In truth, Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi had considered terminating the pregnancies but ultimately couldn't bring themselves to do it.
These were Mo Xuan's children, and no matter how much they didn't want to share him, they couldn't bear to harm the babies.
Even though they sometimes teased their two older daughters, they still loved them dearly. But their greatest love was always reserved for Mo Xuan...
"I'm sorry I wasn't there for you during your last pregnancies," Mo Xuan said, taking their hands. "Alright, let's buy the desserts and head back, shall we? Oh, and what about Sister Hui and the others..."
"We sent them back ahead of us. This time, we'll return to rest and prepare for the births," Luo Shiya replied with a gentle smile. "I told my cousin to pick us up, and he was so happy he cried."
Su Yanran caught sight of the matching rings on Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi's right hands, identical to Mo Xuan's. To her, they seemed unbearably glaring.
She watched as Mo Xuan led Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi, who in turn held their daughters' hands. The family of five happily bought their desserts, got into the car, and gradually disappeared from her view.
"Let's go, Yanran," Su's Mother gently tugged her daughter's hand. "You and he are no longer part of the same world."
Su Yanran didn't respond, nor did she cry. She simply smiled and said, "Yes, that's true..."
Fate seemed to be playing a cruel joke on her, as it led her to see Mo Xuan again in another country, and to witness just how well he was doing now...
"By the way, while I was asleep last night, you guys didn’t do anything, right?" Mo Xuan suddenly looked up while soothing his daughter in the car. It wasn’t that he had any lingering trauma, but he couldn’t shake the feeling that someone had been whispering something in his ear the night before.
"Ah, brother, you’re so paranoid!" Luo Muqi, sitting in the passenger seat, turned around and pouted. "We already said that was the last time! How can you not trust us like this?"
Mo Xuan scratched his head, thinking for a while. It didn’t seem like there was anything wrong, and besides, they were pregnant now—it wasn’t like they could do anything to him. So he decided to let it go.
Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi exchanged a glance, their faces breaking into that familiar smile.
They had indeed resorted to their old tricks, drugging Mo Xuan once again. This time, however, the suggestion they planted in his mind was...
"Don’t forget about us because of the baby in the future..."
As for whether it would work, who could say?
(The main story ends here. Starting tomorrow, there will be side stories to flesh out the characters and explore some creative ideas that extend from the main plot.)
(Thank you all for your continuous support and for urging me to update. I’ve thought about it for a long time and couldn’t decide on a more dramatic ending, so I opted for this relatively calm conclusion. I hope you’re satisfied with it.)
(Once again, I’m deeply grateful to everyone. This has been a valuable learning experience for me, and I’ll put even more effort into my next book. Thank you all so much!!!!!!)
