Violet and Snow

"Sister, I'm back."

The door to Luo Shiya's study was pushed open. Only her sister Luo Muqi would enter her study so casually.

Luo Shiya was 26, and Luo Muqi was 22. The sisters looked very similar, both possessing an otherworldly beauty, including identical pairs of enchanting phoenix eyes. However, unlike the cool and elegant Luo Shiya, Luo Muqi was more like a proud princess.

She wore light blue skinny jeans and a white fitted shirt, with her waterfall of black hair cascading over her prominent curves, making her figure even more alluring.

"Brother's here too?" Luo Muqi walked over with a smile. "Sister, did Brother come for something?"

"Yes, he brought us gifts." Luo Shiya smiled and handed the remaining unopened gift to Luo Muqi, then pointed to the dolphin necklace she was wearing. "It's like this one - yours matches mine."

"Really?"

Seeing the necklace around Luo Shiya's neck, Luo Muqi eagerly opened hers and put it on, then gave Mo Xuan a coquettish smile: "Brother, I love it!"

Mo Xuan scratched his head embarrassedly and said, "This is all I could afford with my bonus. When I earn more, I'll try to buy better ones..."

The sisters exchanged knowing smiles. To them, anything from Mo Xuan, even if bought from a street vendor, would be treasured like a priceless jewel.

"Oh right, Sister, didn't you buy a gift for Brother?" Luo Muqi asked Luo Shiya. "Brother, you can't refuse this time!"

Luo Shiya pointed to her desk. Luo Muqi went over and took out a black box containing a wristwatch.

"It's beautiful..."

Twelve golden knights made of rose gold formed the hour markers on the watch. Though Mo Xuan wasn't knowledgeable about luxury goods, he could tell this watch was extremely expensive.

"Your birthday is coming up," Luo Shiya smiled. "You never use the things I give you. This time, I hope you won't decline."

Just as Mo Xuan was about to refuse, Luo Muqi grabbed his right hand and put the watch on him. Luo Shiya's eyes instantly turned dark, and a cold aura slowly emanated from her.

Mo Xuan shivered involuntarily. How did it get so cold in October?

"Brother, please accept it," Luo Muqi smiled at Mo Xuan, seemingly unaffected by her sister's terrifying aura. "Don't worry, it's not expensive."

Not expensive... really? Mo Xuan looked at the uniquely designed watch on his wrist - it certainly didn't look cheap!

If he knew he was wearing a limited edition Roger Dubuis Knights of the Round Table worth 4 million, he wouldn't dare to even touch it!

"Oh right, Wei'er and Xue'er are awake. Brother, you should go check on them," Luo Muqi winked at him. "Sister and I have something to discuss."

"Oh, alright, I'll go now."

Hearing that his daughters were awake, Mo Xuan couldn't help but smile as he hurried out of the study. Luo Muqi closed the door, then turned to look at her sister who was still emanating a dark aura, and giggled: "Sister, is it necessary? We agreed to share him, why are you upset?"

"Indeed. If I had been the one touching him today, you probably wouldn't be any better," Luo Shiya's terrifying aura slowly dissipated. "What did you want to tell me?"

Luo Muqi shrugged, took out her phone, found a saved screenshot and handed it to her sister: "Su Yanran is getting engaged to Mo Jinpeng."

Luo Shiya looked at the screenshot, her lips curling into a slight smirk, her tone tinged with mockery: "So she got what she wanted..."

"The problem is, Sister..." Luo Muqi's eyes slowly turned crimson. "She returned to the country and went straight to Brother's old apartment, and even rented it."

"Oh, is that so?" Luo Shiya seemed unconcerned. "Trying to rekindle old flames?"

"Sister, should I have someone teach her a lesson?"

Unlike her sweet and adorable demeanor in front of Mo Xuan, Luo Muqi now wore a pathological smile, her eyes filled with murderous intent. Luo Shiya looked at her sister and chuckled: "No need. It's been three years, and we're just a few steps away from having Xuan completely by our side... Don't worry, not only has he given up on her, but as long as we have the daughters, no one can take Xuan away from us..."

After leaving the study, Mo Xuan rushed to the girls' room. As soon as he opened the door, he was hugged by two adorable little angels, one on each side.

"Daddy!"

"Daddy!"

Luo Wei'er and Luo Xue'er were Mo Xuan's daughters. Actually, Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi had suggested giving the children Mo Xuan's surname, but he had refused.

He personally didn't mind, but this matter couldn't be kept secret forever. If the children bore his surname, the Mo Family might get ideas.

Besides, Mo Xuan always maintained the mindset that these two heavenly beauties, these flowers on high peaks, would eventually marry someone else. Neither Luo Shiya nor Luo Muqi were women he could dare to dream about.

There were many prestigious families in the Capital, and those wanting to marry the sisters could probably circle the globe. Let alone him being disowned by his family, even the Mo Family, which outsiders considered prestigious, was nothing compared to the Luo Family.

He wanted to spend as much time with his children as possible. When that day eventually came, he hoped the Luo Family would at least allow him to secretly see his daughters occasionally.

"Come here, darlings, let Daddy hold you."

Mo Xuan picked up the two little angels. Coincidentally, the sisters had become pregnant with his children at the same time and even gave birth on the same day, though Luo Shiya delivered an hour earlier than Luo Muqi.

That's why Luo Wei'er was the elder sister and Luo Xue'er the younger. The sisters hugged their father's neck and happily kissed his cheeks.

However, the temperature suddenly dropped again, even lower than before.

"It's only October... Come on, sweethearts, Daddy brought you presents."

Mo Xuan felt something was off and quickly carried the two children downstairs. He didn't notice the sisters' gloomy faces at the study door.

"I regret it, Sister..." Luo Muqi said coldly. "Although I love Wei'er and Xue'er dearly, but... why do they get to kiss Brother so openly?"

"Because they're his daughters," Luo Shiya wore a barely noticeable smile, but her hand gripping the doorframe tightened. "Let's wait a bit longer. Don't worry, Xuan... will eventually fall in completely."

The two little angels saw the dolls their father bought, two for each, and happily sat on the carpet to play. The good news was that these two were very sensible, neither fighting nor grabbing, and got along well as sisters.

The bad news was that in their eyes, there were only three types of people in the world: Daddy, themselves, and others.

Their mothers ranked far above the "others," but still...

Mo Xuan sat on the floor with a little angel on each side, playing happily. Nearby, Uncle Zheng's mouth twitched involuntarily - these two really had double standards!

Anything Mo Xuan bought was treasure to them, but no matter how expensive the toys or dolls others bought, the girls wouldn't even look at them.

"Wonder who they take after..." Uncle Zheng deliberately glanced towards the stairs. "It's strange, the master and madam are normal, and there's nothing wrong with the eldest master's side either..."

Uncle Zheng looked at the still-unaware Mo Xuan and silently prayed.

Mr. Mo, you must live a long and healthy life, or it won't be just you who suffers!

Just Became Emperor, Already Assassinated by the Son of Destiny

e bizarre and supernatural had descended. The previous emperor was a thoroughgoing tyrant; no longer satisfied with human women, he had set his sights on a stunningly beautiful supernatural entity. He met his end in his bedchamber, drained of all his vital essence. As the legitimate eldest son and crown prince, Wang Hao was thus hastily enthroned, becoming the young emperor of the Great Zhou Dynasty. No sooner had he awakened the "Imperial Sign-In Intelligence System" than he was assassinated by a Son of Destiny—a classic villain's opening. The Great Zhou, ravaged by the former emperor's excesses, was in national decline. The great families within its borders harbored their own treacherous schemes, martial sects began to defy the imperial court's decrees, and border armies, their pay and provisions in arrears, grumbled incessantly against the central government. Fortunately, the central capital was still held secure by the half-million Imperial Guards and fifty thousand Imperial Forest Army who obeyed the court's orders, along with the royal family's hidden reserves of power, barely managing to suppress the realm. As the Great Zhou's finances worsened and supernatural activities grew ever more frequent, the court sat atop a volcano. Ambitious plotters everywhere dreamed of overthrowing the dynasty, and even some reclusive ancient powers emerged, attempting to sway the tides of the world. At the first grand court assembly, the civil and military officials nearly came to blows, fighting tooth and nail over the allocation of fifty million taels of silver from the summer tax revenues. The spectacle opened Wang Hao's eyes—the Great Zhou's bureaucracy was not only corrupt but also martially proficient, a cabinet of all-rounders. Some officials even had the audacity to suggest the emperor release funds from the imperial privy purse to address the emergency. Wang Hao suddenly felt weary. Let it all burn.
