"If you have something to say, just say it. There's no need to be sarcastic," Mo Xuan suppressed his irritation. "I know that in the past, Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi did some questionable things for the sake of the family business..."
"Just some questionable things?"
Hearing Mo Xuan's words, Cheng Yuno couldn't help but laugh. "Do you really not know anything? Well, of course, they wouldn't want you to know what they've done while you're by their side."
Cheng Yuno slowly sat back in her chair, looking at Mo Xuan with interest before continuing, "My brother mentioned that Luo Muqi seems to care a lot about you. I don't know what she did, but it was enough to make my brother, who never lets anyone take advantage of him, let it go."
Mo Xuan sneered, "How should I know? Maybe he’s role-playing and actually thinks he’s some enlightened monk."
Cheng Yuno could hear the sarcasm in Mo Xuan's voice, but she wasn’t offended. Instead, she went on, "You should know that although the Luo family isn’t interested in the entertainment industry, they hold significant shares in domestic cinema chains and popular video platforms. Especially in the cinema chains, the Luo family has a stranglehold on many film and television groups."
"And when it comes to popular social media platforms in the country, the Luo family is a major shareholder..."
"What exactly are you trying to say?"
Mo Xuan felt bored, thinking he was just wasting time with Cheng Yuno.
"Don’t rush me. I’m just getting started," Cheng Yuno said, looking completely at ease. "Guess how many scandals Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi have suppressed? These two sisters are notorious in the upper circles of the Capital, yet not a single thing has ever been exposed."
"Once, a clueless wealthy family in the Capital competed with Luo Shiya over a project. She personally orchestrated the head of that family’s suicide by jumping off a building. His son wanted to avenge his father, but before he could do anything, Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi personally led a group of people to break his legs and left him in the suburbs, where wild dogs literally tore him apart."
"Luo Shiya has been managing Luo Corporation’s business since her university days. She’s an expert at this sort of thing. There was a Fortune 500 foreign company that brought massive investment into the Capital. Within three months, the entire management was embroiled in scandals, and several executives had 'unfortunate accidents.' Eventually, all their projects were shelved, and the Luo family swooped in to take over at below-market prices."
"And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Since these two sisters started handling the family business, I’ve lost count of how many lives they’ve ruined."
Seeing Mo Xuan’s grim expression, Cheng Yuno became even more pleased.
"Luo Muqi isn’t as calculating as her sister, but she’s just as ruthless. At a party once, I saw her stab a rich kid who was harassing her with a dinner knife right in the face. If Luo Tian hadn’t stopped her, she probably would’ve gone for his eye..."
"Are you done?"
Mo Xuan suddenly interrupted her, his tone icy. "Don’t you think you sound like a gossipy old woman? I’m starting to regret stepping in that day. Why didn’t your ex-fiancé just slap you and be done with it?"
Cheng Yuno’s expression darkened for a moment at the mention of this, as it was indeed a sore spot for her.
But she quickly composed herself and smiled again. "The one who hooked up with my fiancé was your sister, wasn’t it? I heard you’ve cut ties with your family?"
"So, you see, your sister stole my man, and you stopped me from getting slapped. I guess we’re even."
Mo Xuan didn’t bother arguing with her. He glanced at his watch and said impatiently, "If this is all you wanted to say, I’ll take my leave. I don’t have time to waste with you."
"Actually, you could consider me," Cheng Yuno said, giving him a deliberately flirtatious look. "I’ll admit I’m not as beautiful as them, but I’m not bad, right? Plus, I’m quite wealthy. If you’re with me, I can even bring you into Cheng Corporation..."
She was about to continue, but seeing the disdain in Mo Xuan’s eyes, she sighed. "Am I really that unattractive?"
Mo Xuan ignored her and turned to leave. He wasn’t narcissistic enough to think she was genuinely interested in him, especially since her earlier act was so obviously fake.
Though he didn’t know what she was really thinking, Mo Xuan felt that this woman, like her brother, was out of her mind.
"Alright, I’ll stop joking, Mo Xuan," Cheng Yuno returned to her usual demeanor. "I sought you out because I genuinely admire your talent and would love for you to join Cheng Corporation."
"Also, I sincerely advise you: Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi are not normal people. I won’t spread the word about the three of you—I don’t want to cause myself trouble, especially since the Luo family has ways to suppress it. I don’t know how much they care about you, but do you really want to be with people like that?"
"Even their elders can’t control them. Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi have used extreme and ruthless methods just to solidify the Luo family’s position."
At this point, Cheng Yuno also sighed. When Luo Shiya was 18, she suddenly returned to the Luo family after being missing for two years. Not only did she get into Capital University, but her personality had also changed significantly.
The old Luo Shiya was somewhat aloof, but nothing like she is now. The same went for Luo Muqi, who used to be quite cheerful but had become moody and even somewhat malicious.
Everyone thought it was due to the internal turmoil in the Luo family that the sisters had become like this. But unexpectedly, Luo Shiya chose to pursue a double major in university and began helping Luo Tian manage the family business.
Compared to Luo Tian, Luo Shiya didn’t care about the process—only the results. She didn’t hesitate to use any means necessary to achieve her goals.
She even leveraged the Luo family’s underworld connections to ruthlessly target competitors.
Luo Muqi, though not as scheming as her sister, was just as unscrupulous. She didn’t care what methods she used as long as she got what she wanted.
Cheng Yuno had always felt that the sisters seemed to have some kind of obsession. To her, their actions seemed more like they were trying to force the Luo family to compromise.
It wasn’t unheard of for wealthy heirs to use their own abilities to make their families abandon certain plans, like arranged marriages, supporting other heirs, or even seizing power.
But Cheng Yuno had never seen anyone as extreme as these two sisters. Fear of arranged marriages? Given the Luo family’s status, it wasn’t really necessary for them to rely on such alliances.
As for supporting other heirs or seizing power, that didn’t seem to be the case either. Luo Tian was still firmly in his position as CEO. If they wanted to seize power, he would’ve been ousted by now.
She couldn’t figure it out, nor did she want to. Being constantly overshadowed by Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi, Cheng Yuno’s heart had gradually twisted.
In terms of ability, Cheng Yuno wasn’t lacking, but she didn’t have the same talent as Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi. She also didn’t know that everything they did was actually to be with Mo Xuan.
Different obsessions lead to different outcomes. Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi, driven by their obsession, used every means possible just to have Mo Xuan.
Meanwhile, Cheng Yuno’s obsession made her desperate to win against them, no matter the method—even if it meant acting like a detestable gossip.
If she could poach Mo Xuan, the man the sisters valued so much, to Cheng Corporation, wouldn’t that mean she had won?
Even if she couldn’t, what would happen if Mo Xuan, whom they cared so much about, found out about all the terrible things they’d done?
In all these years, Luo Shiya and Luo Muqi had never treated a man as specially as they treated Mo Xuan. Especially the way Luo Shiya acted toward him at the hospital that day—Cheng Yuno could hardly believe it was the same cold, ruthless Luo Shiya.
"Think about it carefully. What I’ve told you is just the tip of the iceberg," Cheng Yuno continued. "To be honest, in business, there are times when you have to resort to unsavory methods. I can understand that. Cheng Corporation didn’t get to where it is today by being completely clean."
"You’re quite honest, I’ll give you that..."
Mo Xuan suddenly sneered at her, but Cheng Yuno shrugged indifferently: "It's the truth, but sisters like them are probably a rare sight."
"You probably don’t know this, but what those sisters did back then even made us feel ashamed."
Cheng Yuno paused, glanced at Mo Xuan, and smiled: "Are you sure you really understand them?"
