Lin Chang's eyes widened in disbelief.
An animated series that hadn't passed censorship would never appear on the children's channel's program schedule!
"No, impossible," Lin Chang shook his head.
He refused to believe it.
But all the evidence forced him to accept that those two animated series had indeed passed censorship.
Not only that!
They were now airing on the children's channel, during prime time!
It was worth noting that even Starlight Entertainment's animated series rarely made it to the children's channel, let alone during prime time!
Lin Xuan, in a cheerful mood, watched as Lin Chang's face turned pale and then flushed with anger.
"How on earth did you manage this?" Lin Chang asked through gritted teeth.
"That, I suppose, is none of Chairman Lin's business," Lin Xuan replied casually, sipping on a cup of tea handed to him by a staff member.
Lin Chang's expression turned icy. "Lin Xuan, Starlight Group has dominated the entertainment industry for twenty years. Our methods go far beyond what you've seen. Are you sure you want to go against me?"
"I'm giving you one last chance. Go home and get engaged to Shen Qianqian. After that, we'll merge your company with Starlight Group, and you'll take on a key position within the company."
Lin Chang had to admit, Lin Xuan had a remarkable talent for business.
He wanted to harness that talent to further Starlight Group's growth.
"If you perform well, you could inherit Starlight Group."
Lin Chang dangled the carrot in front of Lin Xuan.
"Chairman Lin," Lin Xuan scoffed, "I founded Skyline Group precisely to oppose you. Merging with Starlight Group? What are you thinking?"
"As for your methods, bring them on. I'm ready for whatever you throw at me."
He had prepared for everything.
Lin Chang was powerless against him now.
"Fine, very well," Lin Chang's face darkened like ink. "Lin Xuan, don't blame me for disregarding our father-son relationship."
"Chairman Lin, you're joking. We've already severed ties. What father-son relationship is there?"
Lin Xuan chuckled. "You should be more concerned about how you're going to explain the losses from the Shen Family's terminated collaborations to your shareholders."
With that, Lin Xuan left in his Rolls-Royce, in high spirits.
Lin Chang returned to Starlight Group, his expression grim.
"Bang!" He slammed his phone onto the desk.
"What's wrong? Why are you so angry?" Wang Yajun walked into the chairman's office, holding a cup of coffee, and asked with concern. "Who's upset you this time?"
"It's that brat, Lin Xuan!"
Lin Chang said coldly, "Both of his animated series passed censorship. He's riding high now, completely disregarding me!"
Wang Yajun was secretly delighted.
It seemed Lin Chang had failed to convince Lin Xuan to get engaged to Shen Qianqian.
Lin Xuan had thoroughly infuriated Lin Chang.
After this, Lin Xuan stood little chance of competing with her son for the Lin family's inheritance.
The Lin family would soon belong to her and her son.
"How did this happen? Chang, how did Lin Xuan manage to get his animated series approved?" Wang Yajun asked, frowning.
"I don't know."
Lin Chang pinched the bridge of his nose. Wang Yajun's question reminded him of something, and he frowned. "Could it be the woman who's supporting Lin Xuan?"
"If that's the case, her wealth and influence might surpass Starlight Group's." Lin Chang's eyes lit up.
Wang Yajun's heart skipped a beat.
She knew Lin Chang better than anyone. He was a man who prioritized profit above all else. With Starlight Group's growth currently stalled, if this woman truly had such power, Lin Chang might try to curry favor with her.
That would mean Lin Chang would also try to repair his relationship with Lin Xuan.
She had to nip this idea in the bud!
Wang Yajun carefully weighed her words.
"Chang, among the companies stronger than Starlight Group, only Su Hua holds real power. The rest are all controlled by men."
"Su Hua has no interest in men, so Lin Xuan couldn't possibly be involved with her. That leaves only a few wealthy wives, but if their husbands found out their wives were involved with Lin Xuan, they wouldn't let him off the hook. It might even affect our company."
Lin Chang's brows furrowed.
"If Lin Xuan were involved with some heiress, I think that's even less likely," Wang Yajun analyzed. "I doubt they have the resources to support Lin Xuan's company."
"Besides, given how much Lin Xuan despises us, he probably wouldn't let us benefit from his connection with this woman."
Lin Chang's expression darkened.
Yajun was right. He shouldn't pin his hopes on Lin Xuan anymore.
"Yajun, arrange for all streaming platforms and cinemas to block Skyline Group's TV shows and movies."
"Also, blacklist all of Skyline Group's artists!"
Lin Chang said fiercely, "Lin Xuan likes to oppose me? Then I'll show him the consequences of crossing me."
Without distribution platforms, and with only one TV channel airing his shows, Lin Xuan's investments in movies and TV series would never turn a profit.
"Alright, I'll handle it," Wang Yajun nodded.
She walked behind Lin Chang and began massaging his temples.
Lin Chang leaned back in his chair, eyes closed.
Wang Yajun's gentle attentiveness was something Jiang Shuqin had never offered.
"Chang, since Lin Xuan refuses to get engaged to Shen Qianqian, how should we explain this to her?" Wang Yajun asked with concern.
"I'll have to go to her in person and apologize," Lin Chang said through gritted teeth.
If it weren't for Lin Xuan, he wouldn't have to apologize to a junior like her.
After buying some gifts, Lin Chang arrived at the Shen Family's residence.
Shen Qianqian was lying in her room, scrolling through her phone.
"Miss," a servant came to inform her, "Lin Chang is here."

Today was the deadline she had given him. Had he come to announce her engagement to Lin Xuan?
"By the way, is he alone? Did Lin Xuan come too?" Shen Qianqian asked nervously.
The servant shook her head. "No, he's alone."
Shen Qianqian's excitement dimmed.
But it didn't matter. Lin Xuan might be busy, which is why he didn't come with his father.
Shen Qianqian slipped on her slippers and hurried downstairs.
