Stranded on a Desert Island with the Blonde Beauty Governor Chapter 17

"Lorna, why are you saying that?" Li Shi asked, confused.

Lorna replied, "You are a descendant of the Li family and a member of the Freemasons, one of the ten major organizations. The group will definitely not give up on the search and rescue mission. Moreover, the plane we are on was manufactured by your family's Li Group, so they should be able to obtain the flight route and find us here."

Upon hearing Lorna's words, Li Shi shook her head.

"Some things have happened within the group, and the current person in power is Li Na, my cousin. They are too busy to spare much effort to find me. Besides, the group won't undergo any changes without me. As a profit-driven organization, it's clearly not cost-effective to rescue just one person."

Lorna looked at her with a puzzled expression and asked, "Won't your father come to find you?"

Li Shi sighed, "My father has more than one child. Even if he wants to rescue me, he may not have the means. The company doesn't follow his orders. Rescue operations entail huge expenses, and without my cousin's approval, it won't happen."

"How is your relationship with your cousin?" Lorna asked with a sigh.

Li Shi shrugged, "Apart from family meetings and events, I've hardly seen her."

At this moment, Luo Jun reached out and patted her head.

"Alright, while it's still daylight, let's finish our work quickly. You guys go tidy up the shelter, and I'll skin the snake. We'll have roasted snake meat today."

Luo Jun changed the subject.

Lorna nodded and helped Jenny sit down in an open area.

Li Shi went to chop firewood.

Although she was the daughter of a wealthy merchant, she didn't shy away from physical labor. She chopped wood with great skill.

Luo Jun looked at the water python on the ground without much joy.

Instead, he became more worried.

They already had enough meat to last them a long time, but the crucial question was how many ferocious beasts were on this primitive island?

A bear came last night, and today a water python appeared.

The water python must have tracked the bear's scent or Jenny's bloody smell to find its way here. Now that the water python died here, the entire rocky beach was filled with the scent of blood.

With the sea breeze carrying this scent, it could permeate the forest several kilometers away.

If there were other creatures in the vicinity, tonight would undoubtedly be very dangerous.

This once again reminded Luo Jun of the torn soldier's body in the transport plane and the traps on the island. These two things easily made Luo Jun think of the possible existence of primitive creatures and indigenous people on the island!

Therefore, tonight might be extremely perilous!

Luo Jun had to deal with the meat quickly, replenish his energy, and find a way to set up more traps in the vicinity.

With these thoughts in mind, Luo Jun had already skinned a whole snake.

He washed off the bloodstains by the seaside, dug a hole, and soaked the snake skin in it, allowing it to absorb water fully.

Tomorrow, he would take it out, scrape off the fat and minced meat, and then roast and dry it.

This way, the snake skin could be tanned into leather and preserved for a long time.

After soaking the snake skin, Luo Jun went on to deal with the bloody snake meat. He dragged the snake bodies to the seaside for cleaning and dissection. After an hour, the smooth rocks were covered with fresh chunks of snake meat.

The smell of the meat was incredibly pungent, and the odor could travel a long way.

Luo Jun had no solution for this. If they attracted other savage beasts or native armed groups tonight, he would have no choice but to hide with the women.

Of course, he couldn't afford to be completely unprepared. With only half an hour left before the sunset, he still needed to set up traps and spear stakes.

He wanted to make a bow, but he definitely didn't have enough time.

The most challenging part of crafting a bow in the wilderness wasn't the bow itself, but the bowstring.

It was difficult to create a powerful bow without good materials. Traditional bowstrings required a large quantity of thread for wrapping, but Luo Jun couldn't get his hands on that much fine thread in this place.

Luo Jun was busy, and soon it was dark.

There was a lot to do, but time was far from sufficient. He had only managed to carve ten spear stakes.

These spears were over a meter long. While not as effective as a bow and arrow, throwing them with force could impale a person, making them highly lethal.

Luo Jun returned to the campfire and arranged the spears one by one on the nearby rocks. Illuminated by the fire, they resembled primitive weapons confiscated from a battlefield.

"Mr. Luo, what are you doing with these things?" Lorna asked, startled by Luo Jun's return with the spears.

"Don't worry too much. If there's real danger, you can hide in the woods, and we'll keep our meeting signal the same: place a stone on that rock. When you see it, you'll know I'm safe and back," Luo Jun said seriously, causing the women to nervously swallow their saliva.

"Uncle, will there be other wild animals coming?" Li Shi asked.

"Not just wild animals, but it's highly likely that the natives or secret armed groups on this island will come. Regardless, if they come, it'll probably be a reconnaissance team, not a large group," Luo Jun spoke frankly.

The three women wore gloomy expressions upon hearing his words.

They knew very well that if something happened to Luo Jun, none of them would survive.

They could only silently pray that Luo Jun would come back unharmed.

Luo Jun regretted not having enough time. If there had been sufficient time, he could have fortified this area.

They roasted some snake meat for dinner. The roasted meat didn't taste good, but it was their only option. They couldn't add any more sea salt since the dried salt they had contained impurities and heavy metals. Previously, it was only used to enhance the flavor because they hadn't eaten meat in a long time.

After eating their fill, the three women went inside to rest, while Luo Jun patrolled the vicinity with his spear.

Under the moonlight, the only sounds were the crashing waves and the chirping of insects in the forest.

Everything seemed so tranquil and peaceful.

Luo Jun, feeling tired, returned to the shelter and glanced at the three sleeping women before resting against the rock himself.

He slept for a full six hours, only to be awakened by the cold sea breeze in the middle of the night.

Upon awakening, Luo Jun placed some dry firewood into the stove.

However, at that moment, he heard a cry of agony coming from the woods, though it quickly vanished.

"Indeed, there's someone!"

Luo Jun's heart started racing, and he picked up a few spears beside him as he moved towards the woods.

He knew for sure that someone had triggered the trap he had set up!

Moreover, it was likely that there was more than one person approaching. If it were only one person, the cry of agony wouldn't have disappeared so quickly. Injured individuals tend to continue crying out in pain.

Luo Jun was now very eager to know who exactly these people were on this mysterious island.

What could their purpose be?

Why does the whole world seem to be collaborating in concealing this island?

These secrets were scratching at Luo Jun's curiosity like a cat, and he wondered if capturing one of the enemies alive would reveal everything.
