The moonlight by the seaside was always shrouded in layers of mist. The survivors warming themselves by the fire on the shore had finished their rice porridge, but eventually put out the fire and retreated into the tents which could provide them with a little warmth.
At first, the two girls did not dare to sleep close to Luo Jun, but since they had no blankets, by the middle of the night, they had embraced him from both sides and fallen asleep.
In the other tents, the women, although cramped for space, huddled together and did not feel too cold.
The next morning, Luo Jun got up early and went with the captain and first mate into the nearby woods, selecting a flat clearing.
"This place is convenient for fetching water and well-suited for setting up a shelter. You all should move the supplies here with the women today. I need to go back and bring the three women with me to this side."
Luo Jun said to the two men. They nodded, and Luo Jun took out two magazines from the backpack he had obtained from the mercenary.
"The rifles are in my tent. Take these magazines and be careful. There are also two handguns for you to defend yourselves!"
Luo Jun gave them the magazines and handed them two Glock pistols.
The two men nodded at Luo Jun. Although they did not need to know his specific identity, Luo Jun had undoubtedly saved them twice now, and was entrusting them with firearms.
From this moment, trust had been established between them.
"Don't let anyone else touch the guns. After all, not everyone has the mental fortitude like us."
Luo Jun reminded them, and the two understood his meaning, promising not to let the guns fall into the hands of others.
"Good, I'll leave this side to you both. I'll head back first."
After bidding them farewell, Luo Jun, fully prepared, headed towards the shelter.
Now, wherever Luo Jun went, he carried his Barrett, which still had eight rounds remaining (previously written as five, correcting it).
If he encountered that monster in the forest again, he guaranteed he could put it down directly.
After Luo Jun left, the captain and first mate got busy. They now had relatively complete cooking utensils, but no salt or oil. Among the supplies moved from the ship, there was only rice and some canned meat.
Additionally, the clothes they wore were quite thin, relying solely on the campfire and tents for warmth.
As for tools needed for clearing the land, they only had three hatchets.
These hatchets were what Jones had someone retrieve from the ship. Otherwise, they would not have even the basic tools for clearing land, making the construction of the shelter extremely difficult.
They needed to spend an entire day relocating, and before nightfall, they had to clear that plot of land and gather enough dry firewood.
This workload did not seem like much, but was actually quite laborious, especially with the lack of tools.
So the captain and the others roused the women to work early in the morning.
It took Luo Jun half a day to return to the shelter. The three women had washed up and cleaned themselves today. Although their clothes were tattered, they exuded a fresh glow, full of feminine charm.
Jenny's leg injury had not fully healed yet, but she could walk with the aid of a stick.
However, to bring Jenny along now would mean they could not make it to the seaside today, so they had to wait until tomorrow.
Luo Jun told the three women about relocating to the seaside. Upon hearing that they could live together with the other survivors, they were overly excited, for humans are social creatures, and a small circle would seriously affect one's mood and outlook.
"Tomorrow morning we'll move to the seaside. Take a good rest this afternoon."
Luo Jun said to the three women. He had originally planned to go to Character-Shaped Mountain to retrieve the guns, but the round trip would mean he could only return tomorrow morning, and his physical exertion would be too great.
So he decided to wait until the shelter was set up and everyone was warmly settled before going to get the guns.
After all, getting them so early served no purpose, since the training time had not yet come.
With the sun still warm, Luo Jun stripped off his clothes and stepped into the icy pool, his strong body now revealing the long, slender scars under the sunlight.
Lorna came over with soap to help Luo Jun scrub his back.
Jenny and Li Shi hid inside the shelter, but Li Shi occasionally peeked through the gaps, her eyes roaming over the man's body as she unconsciously swallowed her saliva.
Seeing this, Jenny couldn't help but smile.
"Mr. Luo Jun is truly very strong and quite charismatic. It's a pity he's an assassin, destined not to walk the same path as us."
Jenny seemed to be reminding Li Shi not to invest too much thought in Luo Jun.
Although Jenny was not much older than Li Shi, she had been in a relationship before and experienced the death of her boyfriend, making her much more experienced in matters of the heart than Li Shi.
She was worried that Li Shi would go down the wrong path. One should know that Luo Jun was no ordinary man, and to entrust him with feelings would be an extremely dangerous thing.
"I know, he is an extraordinary person in this ordinary world," Li Shi replied sadly, clearly understanding Jenny's words.
Jenny had already seen through Li Shi's infatuation with Luo Jun. Otherwise, why would Li Shi create opportunities to go out with him every time Luo Jun ventured out?
Everyone could see Li Shi's feelings.
Luo Jun was aware of it too. That was precisely why Luo Jun had not touched Li Shi. For a girl experiencing her first love, that initial profound love would be remembered for a lifetime, and she would give her all to it.
If it were just a fling, Luo Jun would have already taken her down.
He did not want to bear any emotional debts.
As Lorna helped Luo Jun scrub his back, one of her hands explored his abs, caressing his perfect eight-pack.
These muscles were honed from killing, very different from the plump muscles built in the gym - they were innately terrifying.
"Mr. Luo, that girl has been thinking about you all night. Did you touch her?" Lorna said, her other hand gently pleasuring Luo Jun, but the weather was too cold for Luo Jun to get excited.
"I don't want to invite trouble," Luo Jun said disdainfully. To him, he only wanted to avoid troubles. As for love and such, he had never expected it, never deeply experiencing the beauty of love.
Now that he was older, coupled with having witnessed the darkest things in the world, how could he receive the luxurious gift of love with a pure heart?
Lorna smiled at his words: "You may be clearheaded now, but that may not always be the case. A maiden's infatuation can be incredibly alluring, ensnaring even an assassin like you."
Lorna's words clearly aimed to probe Luo Jun, but he did not pursue that topic further.
He turned and rose from the pool.
Lorna, seeing his perfect physique, blushed and her heart raced as she kissed Luo Jun passionately.
