“Ugh...”
“Groan...”
The zombies seemed to be guided by something, relentlessly advancing through the streets.
Even without the temptation of flesh, they appeared more driven than if they had just feasted, as if consumed by madness.
One had to admire Chen Xing’s terrifying authority as a high-level mutated zombie.
It was a pity, though, that these zombies couldn’t possess higher intelligence. If they could operate like an army, dividing into squads and strategizing their movements,
the Blue Planet would have long been completely dominated.
Yet, it seemed that even Chen Xing was still following someone’s orders, and the situation wasn’t as simple as it appeared.
“Thud!”
A muffled sound echoed through the air.
A bullet trailing flames shot through the gaps between buildings, quickly accelerating a second time before plunging into the horde of zombies.
Some zombies, hearing the commotion, glanced up at the tiny projectile but continued forward indifferently. However, the next second...
“Boom!”
A fierce explosion erupted amidst the zombie horde. Some low-level mutated zombies, unable to dodge in time, were directly caught in the blast. Their intelligence wasn’t sufficient to comprehend the threat of firearms.
High temperatures and shockwaves ravaged the explosion zone, shattering the glass of surrounding buildings, which rained down onto the ground.
A bloody, gaping hole was torn into the horde, and the smell of charred flesh wafted through the streets.
The zombies that hadn’t died but were now on fire, feeling no pain, continued to move forward with their still-functional bodies.
This was what made zombies more terrifying than humans—they were fearless and tireless.
Under Chen Xing’s control, they were formidable enemies.
But in Ning Yu’s eyes, they were nothing but beautiful points.
The thermobaric bomb she had just fired cost her 5,000 points, but it earned her over 6,200 points, netting her a profit of 1,200 points.
Originally, she had left the RPG with Shen Yiyue, but she had exchanged for another one of the same model.
Now, instead of feeling like she was being hunted, she felt like a gold miner in a goldfield, where every shot brought her a chunk of gold.
With this shift in mindset, Ning Yu suddenly grew excited.
Chasing me, huh?
Back in the day, Chen Daozai turned 20 bucks into 37 million. Me, Ning Yu, will use this zombie horde to earn enough points for financial freedom. No problem.
Then I’ll activate the “Dreamless Moonlight” mode and sleep in peace. Don’t ask—just call it luxury.
The bleak autumn wind brushed past Ning Yu’s ears, lifting her delicate silver hair and bringing a slight chill. She narrowed her amber eyes and reached behind her,
pulling up the hood of her outerwear. It had two small rabbit ears, white on the outside and pink on the inside, flopping lazily on top.
No need to guess—such a girly outfit was also picked out by Shen Yiyue.
With Ning Yu’s straightforward taste in fashion, she’d always choose black, white, or gray. Every time, Shen Yiyue would insist on giving her input.
Wearing the cutest outfit while carrying an RPG—there was no sense of incongruity when it came to Ning Yu.
The barrel of the thermobaric launcher was still warm from the last shot, and Ning Yu loaded another round into it.
She had already moved to a new location since her first shot.
The zombie horde was advancing relentlessly, and she was retreating just as steadily. Staying in one place for too long would inevitably lead to being surrounded by the horde.
“Thud!”
After firing the rocket, Ning Yu didn’t bother to observe its effects. Instead, she stowed the RPG and fired a grappling hook,
swinging to a higher platform.
The fastest-moving Gluttons in the horde were already leaping toward the spot where Ning Yu had been standing.
Ning Yu mused that the mutated zombies still lacked long-range attack capabilities. In the zombie games of her past life, there were skinny and fat zombies that could spew strange liquids.
But now, the zombies were being kited by Ning Yu, who was farming points off them.
Ning Yu put away the RPG she had just fired, as a dozen Gluttons had already leaped toward her.
She then pulled out two heavy shotguns, the “Peacemaker*Modified,” from her system space, holding one in each hand.
The entire gun body was red, with flame patterns that seemed to be burning. The metal barrel glinted coldly.
The multi-barrel design hinted at its devastating power—at close to medium range, a single shot would be impossible for flesh and blood to withstand.
Ning Yu loved the name, Peacemaker. One shot to send the enemy to the afterlife, and the world would be at peace.
The name made perfect sense.
“Bang!”
A Glutton leaped up from the left, swinging its claws at Ning Yu.
But before it could complete its motion, Ning Yu had already raised the “Peacemaker*Modified” in her left hand, aiming at the marked death line on its lower abdomen. With one shot, she blew its lower half to pieces.
The poor creature died instantly.
Ning Yu’s Blood Kite flew over obediently, piercing into its body and absorbing its mutated blood.
A warm, exhilarating sensation spread through her body. The “Embrace of Fire” no longer required her to hold the Blood Kite to receive its effects.
Ning Yu’s eyes began to take on a faint red hue.
“Bang!”
“Bang!”
Ning Yu fired both shotguns simultaneously, and the rooftop was soon a bloody mess. The Gluttons hadn’t even gotten close to Ning Yu before they were blown apart.
Although the Blood Kite wasn’t directly involved in the fight, it didn’t dampen its excitement. Every time a Glutton died, Ning Yu controlled it to absorb the blood,
converting every drop into experience points.
Soon, the rooftop was littered with the desiccated corpses of Gluttons, and Ning Yu had a moment of peace.
But she wasn’t about to rest. The two “Peacemaker*Modified” shotguns were instantly stowed back into her system space, and the RPG was summoned once again.
“Thud!”
Another thermobaric bomb shot toward the zombie horde in the distance. The intense flames made the streets of City A feel like they were back on the day the apocalypse began.
With so many weapons at her disposal, Ning Yu felt like a manual version of the Terminator—something she couldn’t have imagined back when she had to scrimp and save every few hundred points.
But even then, she had seen the potential of this system.
Perhaps it was a system of slaughter, born specifically for Ning Yu to exterminate the zombies.
The Wrath, having caught up with the horde’s progress, hurled chunks of concrete and debris from a nearby building toward Ning Yu.
Ning Yu’s grappling hook was already fired, and she swung away before the haphazardly thrown junk could hit her.
But she still intended to teach these uncivilized brutes a lesson.
As she moved at high speed, the wind caused the rabbit ears on her hood to sway. Ning Yu’s hand suddenly held a remote control with a red button.
She estimated the position of the Wrath and gently pressed the button in the center.
“Boom!!!!!!!!!”
“Boom!!!!!!!!!”
