"Whack!"
The wooden stick struck Shen Yiyue squarely on the head once again, unhurried and deliberate.
The blow left her momentarily dazed. When she regained her senses, she saw the silver-haired little loli's faint smile tinged with a hint of cunning:
"You fell for it again. Too impatient!"
Shen Yiyue's dagger thrust went wide, leaving her completely exposed.
Ning Yu spun around and kicked her flying.
Avoiding vital areas, she kicked Shen Yiyue's tender bottom with force, minimizing the damage.
Shen Yiyue crashed to the ground once more, in an undignified face-plant position.
She lay on the ground, clutching her head, and began to whimper:
"Waaah, Little Yu! You deliberately baited me with a fake opening!"
"You were so eager to land a hit on me, how could I not take advantage of your psychology?"
The silver-haired little loli was utterly unconcerned by her accusation, casually taking a sip of a sports drink from nearby.
"You need to learn to exploit your enemy's mentality, avoid their attacks, lure them in, and then strike the fatal blow."
Shen Yiyue rubbed her suddenly sore bottom, looking at the little loli's innocent face with a resentful expression.
This annoying brat hadn't even broken a sweat!
While she herself was already in such a sorry state. Was this the difference in their abilities?
They had been training for a long time today, and she had indeed reached her physical limit.
Shen Yiyue simply flopped onto the ground, puckered her cherry-like lips, and began to act spoiled:
"I can't get up anymore after being hit!"
"I can only get up if Little Yu gives me a kiss!"
Hearing this, Ning Yu immediately rolled her eyes, a perfect "little loli is speechless" meme.
She picked up the unfinished drink and walked straight inside, only tossing back a single sentence:
"Fine, just lie there then. Better not come in for dinner."
At the mention of "dinner," Shen Yiyue's previous dramatics instantly vanished.
She sprang up from the ground with surprising energy from who-knows-where.
Like an excited puppy, she dashed to Ning Yu's side, circling around her with starry eyes:
"What are we having for dinner tonight?"
She had suddenly gotten too close, and Shen Yiyue's workout clothes were quite form-fitting.
Ning Yu only felt a surge of waves crashing back and forth before her eyes.
Was it her imagination, or had they gotten even bigger recently?
Ning Yu replied irritably: "Just wait and see."
This girl was truly a reincarnated hungry ghost, not at all the delicate and innocent JK she appeared to be.
The little loli strode towards the kitchen with a no-nonsense attitude.
......
After a satisfying meal.
The two were sitting in the living room.
Ning Yu was reading "The Stranger," which she had reached the middle of, holding a mango milk instead of strawberry milk.
She had already finished all the strawberry milk.
Shen Yiyue was writing something down in a notebook with a pen.
This was a habit she had developed recently.
Every day, she would record the key experiences Ning Yu taught her in the notebook, and review them mentally when not training.
She was extremely diligent in her training, rarely complaining, and quite intelligent.
She almost never made the same mistake twice, and was particularly humble, often asking Ning Yu for advice and drawing inferences.
Even this note-taking was something she had started on her own initiative, without Ning Yu prompting her.
Except for occasionally acting like an idiot trying to forcibly snuggle up to her, only to be kicked away.
This dummy pleased Ning Yu very much.
"Gulp gulp"
The sound of the straw reaching the bottom – Ning Yu had finished another box of mango milk.
She put down the book in her hand and said to Shen Yiyue:
"Your training has shown some initial results. I want to go out tomorrow."
Shen Yiyue looked puzzled:
"What are you planning to do?"
"Never mind that, just focus on your training."
Ning Yu gave her a sidelong glance.
She put on a pitiful expression and let out a soft "Oh."
During this time, Ning Yu had been busy with targeted training for her, only occasionally going out to kill some zombies for points.
However, the focused training had been very effective, and Shen Yiyue was progressing rapidly.
Mainly because Ning Yu from her past life was too strong, Shen Yiyue basically wouldn't take any detours.
Receiving one-on-one, hands-on training from a top-tier assassin, it would be hard not to improve.
In her past life, there was a novel called "The Intimate Bodyguard of X Flower," and now she was like "The Intimate Bodyguard of a JK."
Ning Yu had two main purposes for going out this time:
First, she wanted to kill more zombies.
The experience value of the Crimson War Blade had already risen to [12/50] after these few days of slashing.
She wanted to kill a lot more at once to see what effect accumulating enough experience to level up would have.
Second, she needed to test the limits of the Crimson War Blade.
She wanted to see how much rationality she could maintain under the negative influence of Blood's Ancient Wish after absorbing enough blood.
This was crucial for sustained combat in the future.
And of course, to earn some points along the way. If she could trigger a quest, that would be even better.
Having expended too much energy during the day, Shen Yiyue didn't stay up much longer before heading off to sleep with drowsy eyes.
After finishing her plans, Ning Yu closed her book and began to meditate.
......
The next day.
On the second floor of a commercial complex.
The silver-haired little loli stood on the still-moving escalator, holding the Crimson Blade.
She wore a white sailor uniform, acquired from who-knows-where.
It was adorned with some pretty dark blue patterns, with a matching butterfly knot on the chest.
However, white doesn't stay clean easily, and it had inevitably been stained with blood.
Her amber eyes had started to turn slightly red, making her look a bit like a young vampire.
A zombie's head rolled down the escalator against its movement.
For a short while, it neither went up nor down, just rolling in place on the steps before finally stopping after a long time.
[You have killed a normal zombie, gained 20 points]
That was a zombie Ning Yu had just dispatched.
She stood on the escalator looking down at the first floor, which she had just cleared.
The first floor was a shopping area for cosmetics and perfumes, with zombie corpses scattered about, though not densely.
Many zombies had already escaped through the broken main entrance to the streets outside.
The second floor began to have restaurants, so she could clearly sense that the number of zombies had increased.
The mindless moans of wandering zombies also became more dense.
While clearing the first floor, Ning Yu felt some influence from the "Blood's Ancient Wish" while wielding the Crimson War Blade, but it wasn't very strong.
It was even less intense than when she had killed Brother Zhang that day.
It had been the same when she went out to kill small groups of zombies these past few days.
This made Ning Yu very suspicious about this blade, wondering if it only got truly excited when drinking fresh human blood.
If it was the already-decayed blood of zombies, it didn't seem very interested, and even seemed a bit disgusted.
Similarly, the experience of the Crimson War Blade hadn't increased much, only reaching [14/50].
Better than nothing, and fortunately, there were a great many zombies.
She couldn't very well go around finding survivors to slaughter just because this blade leveled up from killing people and drinking blood.
Ning Yu wasn't a saint, but she wasn't some deranged serial killer either.
Just as she reached the second floor.
Ning Yu felt a strong sense of unease.
She felt as if someone was staring at her, but she couldn't tell from where.
Several zombies near the escalator had already heard the noise and were slowly converging!
