"Cozy" Daily Life, with Uninvited Guests

After successfully containing Helena once again, Luo Wei sat down on the sofa and let out a long sigh of relief.

Seeing his slightly weary expression, Helena quickly asked, "Brother, are you feeling unwell?"

Luo Wei smiled and gently patted Helena's head. "No, I’m fine. I was just thinking about some things..."

"Thinking... about some things?" Her sapphire eyes widened in confusion.

Luo Wei chuckled but didn’t elaborate further.

He was simply feeling a bit sentimental.

The moment he had successfully contained her, he had been struck by a sudden sense of disorientation.

The memories of when he first entered this world, being chased by Helena, were still vivid in his mind.

It wasn’t until that very moment that he realized this chapter of his life had finally come to a close, and it dawned on him just how long he had been in this world...

From the initial fear and resistance to now, it seemed he had truly integrated into this world.

No longer was he merely playing a role; he had genuinely become Luo Wei Edlin.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but smile even more wistfully.

He was so lost in thought that he didn’t even notice when Evelyn handed him a grilled sausage.

"Here! Stop daydreaming and eat something."

"Huh? You made this?" Luo Wei was stunned as he took the sausage.

It wasn’t burnt to a crisp but instead had a crispy exterior, exuding the unique aroma of smoked meat...

His teacher, Evelyn, had actually cooked something?

"Why are you so surprised..." Evelyn glared at him. "If you don’t want it, give it back. Don’t waste my effort!"

Luo Wei instinctively glanced at the kitchen, where the flames were still flickering, confirming that she had indeed cooked it.

"Of course I’ll eat it!" Luo Wei snatched the sausage back.

"This is a rare treat—something my teacher personally made. It’s too precious to pass up." With that, he began eating with a smile.

Though it was just a simple reheating, considering how she had once destroyed the kitchen, this was a remarkable improvement...

"Hmph! Cooking is such a simple task. Did you really think it could stump someone as brilliant as me?" Evelyn smirked proudly.

Meanwhile, Helena, watching Evelyn eat the sausage, suddenly gave a mocking smile.

"A vampire, holed up at home every day, snacking on human food... Aren’t you afraid your clan will laugh at you if word gets out?"

Evelyn shot her a glance. "What’s wrong with human food? It’s delicious!"

It was only recently that she had come to realize just how diverse, interesting, and tasty human cuisine could be!

She suddenly felt like she had wasted all those years before...

And it was all thanks to Luo Wei...

Though she still harbored some resentment over being contained by him, Luo Wei had inadvertently opened the door to a whole new world for her...

She was now eager to experience all the things she had missed out on as a member of the Vampire Clan, even fantasizing about basking in the sun on a southern beach!

So many wealthy people from Saint Callen flocked there—it must be incredibly enjoyable and relaxing!

With that thought, she eagerly turned to Luo Wei.

"Luo Wei! I want to go on a beach vacation! Take me to that place you told me about!"

Luo Wei smiled at her.

"Alright, alright."

"But..." he added seriously, "we need to take care of things in Saint Callen first. Once everything’s settled, I’ll take you all on a vacation."

"Luo Wei, you’re the best!" Evelyn exclaimed, throwing herself at him in excitement.

"Ugh..."

Evelyn’s ample bosom immediately engulfed his face, nearly suffocating him.

"Teacher... why are you so... big..."

"Move... move back..."

"I can’t breathe..."

Seeing the two of them in such an intimate position, Helena couldn’t sit still any longer.

"Vampire!!"

It was her first day back, and this damned vampire was already flirting with her brother right in front of her! How brazen!

If she didn’t teach her a lesson now, things would only get worse in the future!

Helena, furious, used her tentacles to yank Evelyn away, nearly flinging her across the room.

Luo Wei, finally free, gasped for air.

Evelyn glared at Helena. "What’s your problem? Can’t I express my happiness?"

She then glanced at Luo Wei.

"Besides, didn’t he seem to enjoy it?"

"Vampire!!" Helena clenched her teeth, her fists trembling with anger.

"It’s Vampire Clan! Not vampire!" Evelyn was unusually adamant about this.

"So what if I call you a vampire?" Helena frowned. "Isn’t that what everyone calls you?"

Evelyn snorted. "That’s just the ignorant talk of country bumpkins. We, the noble Vampire Clan, shouldn’t be lumped in with ghouls and the like!"

"I’ll call you a vampire! Vampire, vampire, vampire!!"

"Ahhh! You tentacle monster!!"

As the two were on the verge of a full-blown fight, Luo Wei quietly retreated to the kitchen to give them space.

Hmm... the sausage was a bit too salty. Maybe some juice...

Oh, there’s beer too?

As he sipped his beer, he glanced back at the chaos on the sofa.

The two of them were getting along so well, they were practically one.

The new sofa was already starting to crack...

Luo Wei silently thought that this "harmonious" and "warm" scene might become a regular occurrence in the future...

It was going to be a headache...

...

Helena’s first day back as a "new" housemate passed quietly.

The next morning, the three of them sat together at the dining table for breakfast.

As Luo Wei ate the fried eggs Helena had made, he frowned at the weather outside.

Thick gray clouds loomed over Saint Callen, and the heavy fog showed no signs of lifting.

The weather had been getting worse day by day, and the entire world felt gloomy and oppressive, much like the current situation in the city. The thought of it all left him in a somber mood.

Luo Wei turned to Helena. "After breakfast, check all the doors and windows. Lock everything except the main door."

Helena didn’t ask why and immediately stood up. "I’ll do it right now!"

Evelyn, who had been halfway through her glass of milk, looked at Luo Wei. "Are you worried something might happen here?"

Luo Wei nodded.

Evelyn shrugged. "We’re so far out here, and there aren’t many people around. Do you really think the chaos in the city will spread this far?"

Luo Wei sighed. "I hope I’m just overthinking it. I hope you’re right..."

As the two of them sat in silence, the peaceful breakfast was abruptly interrupted by a series of loud bangs on the door.

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

The knocking was so forceful that Luo Wei and Evelyn immediately stood up, their eyes fixed on the front door.

In their hands, crimson blades materialized.

"Speak of the devil..." Evelyn muttered, her figure flashing as she appeared at the door in an instant.

Luo Wei followed closely behind. The knocking continued, but each strike grew weaker.

It was strange—it didn’t seem like the work of someone trying to break in...

"Who’s there?" Luo Wei called out.

To his surprise, a familiar voice responded from the other side.

"Luo Wei... open the door!"

"It’s me... hurry..."

Luo Wei was startled and immediately opened the door.

Outside stood Police Chief Raymond and his young assistant Leon.

Both were covered in blood, supporting each other. As the door swung open, they stumbled inside, collapsing onto the floor.

"Chief!?" Luo Wei rushed to help Raymond up, but the man was too weak to stand.

"Chief, what happened?" Evelyn asked, equally shocked. "Why are you two here?"

Raymond lifted his head with difficulty, his eyes darting nervously toward the door. "Close... close the door first..."

"Is something following you?" Evelyn quickly scanned the area outside, but the thick fog made it impossible to see far.

Once the door was securely locked, Raymond finally let out a sigh of relief.

Luo Wei was about to ask what had happened when Leon suddenly sat up, his eyes wide with panic.

His eyes were bloodshot, and he was in a state of sheer terror.

He screamed hysterically:

"It's madness! Everyone's gone mad!"

"Get out of here! Get out of Saint Callen!!!"
