Chen Shuo knew that this scrawny vampire had come to find him, definitely had something going on.

The scrawny vampire squeezed out two words from between clenched teeth, "Traitor!"

"When did I ever become a traitor among vampires? I wasn't born a vampire."
In contrast to Chen Shuo's composure, the scrawny vampire's hands were clenched tightly into fists, the veins on the back of his bony hands protruding.
Chen Shuo picked up a skewer, gave it a sniff: "You really should eat more! If you're too thin, you'll be at a disadvantage in a fight."
With Su Xiyan not around, Chen Shuo could freely access his system panel.
Through the system interface, Chen Shuo saw that the vampire before him was just a low level fledgling. He still had a ways to go before reaching a higher level.
Moreover, this vampire's blood meter was running low. Looks like he hadn't fed in quite some time.
The Su City demon hunters have been doing a good job lately! They had frightened the vampires so much none dared to go out and feed.
Chen Shuo pointed at the empty stool and nonchalantly said, "That seat originally had a gold ranked demon hunter sitting there, but she's gone to buy snacks and stepped away for now. You'd best run along before she gets back."
The scrawny vampire let out a raspy chuckle, "Su Xiyan? She went towards the eastern snack street. Don't ask how I know, you should ask how I even have the chance to stand here now."
After a moment's thought, Chen Shuo understood:
"No wonder she's been gone so long just to buy a small iron plate tofu."
"So you guys deliberately lured her away."
When the scrawny vampire spoke to this point, he clenched his fist and slammed it heavily on the table,
with such great force that even the barbecue on the table got scattered around.
Chen Shuo unhurriedly tidied up the messy barbecue: "In our human values, food should not be wasted."
"Kid, what you're doing is wrong."
The scrawny vampire leaned forward, right up to Chen Shuo's face, and grated out between clenched teeth: "You humans? Traitor! Don't forget, you're a vampire!"
"Don't forget, it was Tang Ya who spared your pathetic life and allowed you to become a vampire."
Chen Shuo sneered coldly: "So her name was Tang Ya? What a pity, when she died before my eyes I still didn't know her name!"
"But I have no interest in ever knowing it either."
This was like a heavy blow to the scrawny vampire, igniting his fury!
He shot up from his stool, voice hoarse:
"Courting death!!!"
This commotion attracted the attention of the other barbecue patrons, who started looking over at Chen Shuo's table.
Chen Shuo thought to himself, this was not a good sign. If the vampire's identity was exposed and humans knew there were vampires existing around them, it would cause tremendous panic among the human populace.
By then, both vampires and demon hunters would be exposed.
Just then, right on cue, the barbecue stand owner came over too.
The owner was a kindly middle aged man, he and his wife ran this little barbecue stand to make a humble living.
Small business people like them were most afraid of fights breaking out at their establishment.
The owner had a towel draped around his neck and came over to Chen Shuo's table, took off his greasy mask, smiling ingratiatingly: "Young men, there are no disagreements that can't be talked through peacefully while seated."
"How about this, young men, give me some face and let this barbecue meal be my treat."
Chen Shuo really didn't want to drag such a kindly, timid man into this, so he intentionally spoke very loudly to the owner: "Boss, don't worry about it, this guy's my relative, he's a bit mentally ill and has fits where he can't control wanting to hit people."

The humans nearby could only see Chen Shuo and the scrawny vampire sitting quietly eating barbecue, nothing else, no fighting. Those who had fled farther but still wanted to watch lost interest and stopped looking over.
