On the other hand, Nangong Xiyun returned to the Seven Stars Sword Sect.
There was a group of Seven Stars Sword Sect members waiting for the negotiation results, and they were all eager to know the outcome.
"How is it? What happened to Lin Xuan?"
Nangong Xiyun shook her head. "He refused."
"Damn it."
"The Heavenly Demon Sect is truly infuriating."
Nangong Xiyun said, "There will be results in a few days, be patient. Let the poisoned disciples go for treatment first."
Since Nangong Xiyun had spoken, they had no choice but to wait.
Nangong Xiyun led the poisoned disciples to Medicine King Valley.
The remaining Seven Stars Sword Sect disciples turned their angry glares toward Su Luo and Situ Ye.
Both of them were bound by magical ropes, unable to resist at all.
"What are you doing? What are you going to do?" Situ Ye shouted, feeling much better now.
"You don't expect us to treat you nicely, do you?"
"Don’t make a move. You don’t want Lin Xuan to get hurt, do you?"
"Of course I don’t want that, but you’re also afraid of dying. If Lin Xuan dies, you’ll die too. Attack!"
As they said this, a group surrounded and pummeled Situ Ye with chaotic punches and kicks.
Su Luo watched from the side, feeling uneasy, though he wasn’t afraid of being beaten. With half of the damage he sustained negated due to his cultivation level and powerful physique, no one other than Nangong Xiyun could breach his defenses.
Su Luo was considering whom he could transfer the damage to, perhaps Situ Ye? That seemed too diabolical, so it would still be Situ Ye.
Meanwhile, Xie Feiran untied Su Luo's bindings and respectfully said, "Su Demon Lord, we hope you will show mercy and spare Lin Xuan."
That’s not right.
Even though it wasn’t right, Su Luo quickly responded, "Spare him? Don’t even think about it!"
"Don’t be angry. Come, come, let’s sit down and have some tea first."
"You’re quite sensible."
Su Luo was treated with courtesy, while Situ Ye was subjected to merciless beatings.
"Stop!" Situ Ye raised his hand and shouted.
The others actually stopped.
"Why are you only beating me? What about him?"
"He and Lin Xuan have a grudge to settle. Being nice to him gives Lin Xuan a better chance of surviving," Xie Feiran explained.
"Well, I also have a grudge against Lin Xuan. I won’t let him off!"
"A grudge? Then let’s settle both old and new grudges for Lin Xuan. Beat him up!"
"Why!"
"We don’t need to explain ourselves to you!"
As Xie Feiran spoke, he joined the crowd, and everyone started pummeling Situ Ye again.
Meanwhile, Su Luo remained unbothered, sipping tea as if he had nothing to do.
After a long while, the Seven Stars Sword Sect members finally stopped and placed Su Luo and Situ Ye in a corner.
Situ Ye’s already not-so-handsome face had become even worse.
"Tsk tsk, you okay? Still alive?" Su Luo gave him a slap to show concern.
"Wha..."
"What?"
He couldn’t even speak properly now. Poor guy.
"Why was I the only one beaten!" Situ Ye suddenly burst with intense resentment.
As members of the Heavenly Demon Sect’s Seven Falling Stars, and even though he was a traitor to the Seven Stars Sword Sect, why was he the only one getting hurt?!
Su Luo didn’t know either but guessed it had something to do with Little Yu. He couldn't say that though.
Su Luo said, "It’s their strategy."
"A strategy? What strategy! Are you trying to trick me?"
Su Luo patiently explained.
"Think about it, if we both got beaten, we’d both resent the Seven Stars Sword Sect."
"But now only you’re getting beaten, and I’m unharmed. Wouldn’t you resent them and also resent me? Even though I didn’t do anything, you’d blame me. That’s unfair to me."
"This is their strategy—to sow discord between us, to shift half of your hatred toward me."
Su Luo explained a whole lot, and Situ Ye actually found it convincing.
"But, didn’t we already have problems?"
"They don’t know that."
It seemed logical.
And it was logical. Situ Ye wasn’t the only one, even Su Luo had convinced himself.
"Then why was it you who wasn’t beaten but me? You even betrayed the Seven Stars Sword Sect!"
Hmm, that was hard to refute. From that perspective, it seemed Su Luo was more likely to be beaten.
Su Luo tried to explain, "Maybe tomorrow it’ll be me? Who knows what’s coming in the future? How can you be sure it’ll always be you?"
That made sense. Hearing Su Luo’s reasoning, Situ Ye felt his logic wasn’t flawed.
Maybe tomorrow, Su Luo would be the one getting beaten.
For some reason, Situ Ye began to look forward to tomorrow, to see if Su Luo would be the one suffering.
But the next day, it was still him who was unlucky, enduring another round of beatings.
"Su Luo!"
"Look, this is their strategy. Now you hate me even more. You should hate them instead."
"I don’t care. They’re not hitting you, so I’ll do it!"
Although Situ Ye hadn’t spoken of sharing hardships and joys with Su Luo, only he was getting beaten, and he deeply resented it.
Su Luo kicked him back. "Are you beaten crazy? You’re tied up, and I’m not. What can you do to fight me?"
Situ Ye felt powerless. The pain was not just physical but spiritual.
"What’s going on here? Why are you arguing!" Xie Feiran noticed the commotion and came over.
He instantly knew the reason, or he just made one up to blame Situ Ye.
"Still have the energy, huh? Come here, let us take good care of you."
"Why are you targeting me?"
"You’re not close with Liao Duci, are you? You think we’re here for fun? We’re certainly going to take good care of you."
"No, you can’t do this!"
Situ Ye was dragged into a makeshift prison by several people and started another round of beatings.
Su Luo thought, it’s none of my business; you’re just courting your own doom.
"Su~~~Luo~~~"
A familiar voice called out. Little Yu came in from outside.
She had rushed over immediately after finding out that Su Luo had been captured.
"You’re here."
"Of course, I came as soon as I heard."
Little Yu directly led Su Luo out of the room where they had been temporarily confined, and nobody stopped them.
Little Yu’s status was clearly increasing; Su Luo thought so too.
"Are you okay? Did they do anything to you?"
"I’m fine. Everything’s been great."
"Then you need to keep me company. You promised me before." Little Yu hadn’t had a proper time with Su Luo for a long time. She missed the days when she would visit Su Luo every day at the Seven Stars Sword Sect.
"Of course, now that I’m a prisoner here, there’s no escaping."
So, Little Yu and Su Luo strolled and chatted.
Little Yu asked Su Luo many questions, mostly about how he was doing in the Heavenly Demon Sect and if he was living well.
Occasionally, she would share her own experiences, interesting things she had encountered, and breakthroughs in her cultivation.
There was endless conversation, as Little Yu truly had so much she wanted to share with Su Luo.
In the past, Su Luo was the one who talked more, but now the roles had reversed.
